Great Ambiance, Friendly staff and Awesome Coffee, my recommendation try ambrosia (coffee of gods) with warm Philz bagel

The rundown of this place is simple: the man who runs the place is a minimalistic genius. He names the coffee based on how he thinks it tastes, and he handpicks every coffee bean. The people who work there are friendly and like to converse. They ask for you to taste the coffee before serving it to you, which i think is totally different from other coffee shops. In addition, all coffee is pour over so it is always freshly made never sitting in a pot. Innovative spot and prices are comparable to starbucks except in cup sizes.

Guess I’m done with Philz. The people working here are super snotty and pretentious. I was going to order a large and share it with my friend and they asked me if I wanted a small cup to go with it and I said sure and then realized they upsold me to buying two overpriced coffees without realizing it. I can get a good cup of coffee at many other places Nearby without the attitude and double talk (I’ll hook ya up bro!). 👍

Update- keep doing what you’re doing my friends. There shall be no bad reviews in the world. If you don’t have anything good to say about someone don’t say anything at all. Well I am again a big fan of Philz. They bring some very unique flavors to the table and I love them for that. I hold the ether near to my heart. It brings a traditional “Daniel Boone Kentucky vibe” to the traditional coffee snobbery and I thank you for that. Cheers mate!!

In town looking for a great pour-over coffee place that's on par with your favorite place back home? Unfortunately Philz isn't it. Their menu and upscale pricing leads you to believe their coffee will be top notch. Ice coffee is not cold brew, just iced coffee. Also was really disappointed in a bag of beans we purchased. For starters, they sold us beans in a standard zip lock back because they were out of real bags. And in the end were just unimpressed with the beans. Felt like this was just another cup of coffee, nothing special. Their roasts are all dark. Even something advertised as light, is actually dark. Similar to how Starbucks roasts beans, so dark that you really can't taste nuances. With that said, if you're looking for something more like Starbucks (and less like Blue Bottle or Stump town), then you might be into Philz.

If you love coffee, and you haven't been to a Philz before, you are seriously missing out. The atmosphere is great, although most of the seats are usually taken. Usually a wait in mornings, but the service is unmatched. You get to talk to your own personal barrista and they will make it exactly the way you want it. If you aren't satisfied, they will make you another one until it's your perfect cup of coffee. There a ton of options when it comes to different flavors of coffee. It reminds me of a craft brewery. Very afford as well for what you are getting. I hope they open more in SoCal!

I never knew about this place, but they had great service and knowledge about their coffee, as well as a really good atmosphere. The coffee is a little pricey per cup ($3.6 for a 12 oz cup), but the quality is very high. I'd definitely return here when I'm in the area

The cold brew is really good! Better than other big name coffee shops

Coffee at Philz is amazing. My friends and I are not from here and look forward to it every time. Although this time we received poor customer service from Allie. We aren’t used to online ordering and she was very rude while we were waiting patiently to be served.

This is not your neighborhood Starbucks. If you are looking for typical lattes and americanos, you are out of luck. But, if you are willing to give it the unique coffee flavors a try, this is a wonderful little spot. BONUS, they have delicious gluten free bread and can make any of their breaded munchies gluten free (Safely!) The staff is patient, friendly and informative. Great little place to grab a coffee and a snack, and get a little
work done.

Good coffee and nice vibe. Don't bother ordering any food. I had an almond croissant that was stale and my friend ordered a breakfast burrito which look like it had been frozen.
