I don’t normally write reviews for businesses, but I came here for the first time yesterday and had a bad experience with the service. There were two people working, male and female. The female worker took my order, I gave her a tip and then she proceeded to do anything but make my order for 15+ minutes. No one else was in line, I was the only one waiting - she walked around the shop and chatted with customers, went to the bathroom, washed a couple dishes and still decided to not work on my order. The male worker prompted her to get my bagel done and she said she would “get to it.” It was odd. The male worker then jumped in and got my order for me, he was great, but this female worker could definitely use some feedback around being professional.

my evaluation of a coffee placeis based solely on their cappuccino. In this case, the cappuccino is quite good, virtually in the same class, almost, as Blue Bottle. it's just slightly more bland, doesn't quite have the character and richness of a blue bottle They also charge the same as Blue Bottle. The only complaint about the place is perhaps they are a little understaffed. Whenever I've been there there is only one person doing everything, but granted it's not exactly in a bustling location

Love this coffee shop! Great coffee in light-filled airy comfortable space. A gem.

I love the atmosphere here. I do wish they had a wider and better selection of pastries (I usually don’t even get a pastry, just a drink) but I keep coming back because it’s so cosy and the light makes me happy.

Definitely a neighborhood gem.. Wonderful croissants and othe pastries. Friendly staff (like what's up w coffee shops where it seems like you're bothering the staff?!) Not here.. Haven't tried sandwiches but they sound yummy.

Great coffee and amazing pastrami sandwich (just the right amount of spice). Cozy place to work at. Oh, and they have WiFi now. For the rest Albert's review has a lot of d tailed info

This is such a pleasant Cafe with Third Wave level drinks and neighborhood friendly vibe. Seems a good place to take the laptop, but I believe has digital downtimes on the weekend too.

This place is convenient for me -- less than a ten minute walk from home. Their coffee is good, and they now have breakfast and lunch sandwiches. It's also a comfortable place to hang out.

Love the cortado / gibralter with light roast beans. It somehow has a subtle blueberry taste and its so smooth. Some of the best coffee in the Oakland / Berkeley area IMHO.

Hidden gem! Great location to work/study. Roast their own coffee beans. Better than blue bottle.
Grab a sandwich next door from starmeats or go to fournee for a croissant.
