Mezzo

Great place to eat in or to go. Mostly friendly staff. There is only a quirk about cross contamination if you observe the food line...worry some for those with food allegiea.

Good food options, such as complicated toast, breakfast burritos, salads and sandwiches. A bit pricey, but the ingredients are good. Though the black beans are weak.

But this isn’t a place for good coffee! I’ve decided not to get coffee here after a few bad times. The cold brew bubbles and foams and kind of tastes like a stout. And the coffee is generally poor quality.

It’s a big space though, and good seating, and lots of light.

Felt like the food hasn't changed since my college days in the 90s, though the building is different. (I heard there was a fire.)

Salads bigger than your head and sandwiches on thick, soft bread that are probably good for two meals. They are expensive, but feel like a deal for the size.

Fresh and tasty, great hit for lunch.

A great go-to spot for large portions of healthy salads and sandwiches. Lines can get long at times, but it's worth the wait. Very nice patio in the back!

I love the sandwiches here! I hate that it shares the same space with the Raleigh's bar, but otherwise I love the space!

They gave me a pineapple as a salad. I accidentally got sausage but I did imply that I liked it, that was my mistake. I had the pastrami half sandwich.

Salads bigger than your head!!! Stop wasting time looking at reviews and go eat here!!! Food is amazing, fresh, and consistently delicious. Nice selection of fresh juices and yummy coffee. The staff is always friendly and super accommodating. The atmosphere is comfortable very open and airy. Definitely a Berkeley Landmark!

Amazing experience at Mezzo !
The salad is huge, sandwichs are made with love and their lemonade is refreshing.

This place has definitely gone down hill. We used to eat at Mezzo 3-4 times a week. After they reopened post C19, there was a noticeable drop in the quality of food, employee attitude, and professionalism.

Now we test it out about once a month, and we are almost always disappointed. Our phone orders are consistently wrong (no dressing, wrong protein, no croutons, etc). Tonight, the order was wrong and the lettuce seems to have not been washed. I literally chipped my tooth eating a salad! Who does that?

I feel like this is an unhealthy relationship. I love Mezzo, but they keep hurting me. Please do better!

Got pastrami sandwich and it did not disappoint.
