Slash X Ranch is the oasis you're looking for in the high desert. A few miles from the 215 freeway, this eclectic burger bar offers cold beer and food hot off the grill. The restaurant/bar is comfortable, but the patio is where it's at. The patio has a variety of seating including a set of tables inside the shell of a bus. Beer was frosty cold to beat the dust and heat of the desert, but it's their burger that must keep people coming out. The bacon cheeseburger I ordered was incredible. The parties had an even sear that you can only get from a flattop grill. Although this may be a few miles out of the way, I definitely recommend stopping in when you're passing through Barstow.

Absolutely the coolest as well as the only place to eat in Stoddard valley. All the off road crowd goes there. Burgers and fries are tasty, my favorite is the patty melt. Beer and mixed drinks also. We always sit under the fruitless mulberry trees out back. There was a guy there today performing classic rock music, he was pretty good. I always look at the small collection of iconic off road bikes in the corner of the patio. I'm old enough to remember when some of them were the best money could buy. So roll in there and enjoy.

Great service, good people. Good ole American food. A little off the path, but worth the trip. Vintage Americana scatter the 40+ acres of land behind the restaurant, where off road enthusiasts dreams of a good time become a reality! Ask for Randy Lynn!

Really didn't get to use the cafe. It was closed. We actually camped behind it to use the atv ride area there. Very windy the first day we were there in early April. Shook the trailer quite a bit. The next day wasn't so bad. Nice ride area for 2 - 3 days. Then it might become boring. Space is open and would be hard to get lost.

The ride getting there is fun offroad..
The music was good and they had a live country singer.
The decor is amazing and genuine. As for the food, it took over 25 minutes to get two burgers and a hotdog plus they prepped the hot dog incorrectly .
The burgers weren't the worst but also not the best.
The sausage was salty and they covered it in cheese after I requested no cheese on the dog.
On a positive note, the pickled eggs were available and fresh.

A very unique place to visit.

Fun little piece of Americana stuck away in the middle of the desert behind Barstow. You can reach this place by paved road or you can go The road less traveled like most people across the desert on a great dirt road with lots of fun bumps. Food is pretty decent. It does take a little bit of time to get your order in and get your food back around 1 hour. It is well worth it though because the guy playing that box guitar outside is pretty damn good. Crooning away at some country classics

Its a cool place and it is kid friendly. We have ridden here a couple times and it takes a long time to get your food on the weekends, but you can get drinks right away. All the staff are cool, even when the place is packed. Its easy to get to, just take the main Edison dirt road.
