I took my Mom here. She ordered the lunch special which was chicken livers. She was in Heaven. I order a turkey burger....I was very disappointed in it. But the look of enjoyment on my moms face while she ate her livers was worth it.

I enjoyed a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and krinkleled sweet potato fries. This is my favorite thing there. My guest had the tomato basil & garlic soup with a BLT sandwich and enjoyed the flavor. They have a large menu. It's a quaint non chain cafe. We will definitely go back.

Tried this for the first time and it will definitely be the last.

1. When we walked in, a group of 7 and a baby, the place was understandably busy, but most tables had been served and people were just lingering. We were fine with waiting but the waitress looked around, shrugged, and said “well we ain’t got the room for y’all right now. I don’t know what to tell ya.” Probably should have been a sign right there that we should leave since they didn’t seem too thrilled with our business.

2. Once we were actually seated, it was to a dirty table (no big deal as they came to clean it fairly quickly). However I have a baby who had her hands on the table. When the waitress, (same ray of sunshine from before) started spraying down the table, I moved my daughters hands so that she didn’t get it on her. The waitress gave me a dirty look and squawked “it’s JUST sanitizer!”. I responded “okay? I still won’t want her hands on the table where she will get it on her and put them in her mouth.” She shrugged smirked. I just felt like it was a bizarre interaction.

3. We placed our order and the wait began. We waited an hour before she finally came out and said “alrighty guys, only 2 more tickets before they start on yalls order!”. 😳 We said “wait what? Start? As in, they haven’t started at all?” And she just said “Yep. That’s what it means. Haven’t started.” Absolutely no apology or any semblance of one. Just a bad attitude and a shrug. (We were already close to leaving at this point but we stuck it out. As mentioned before, I had a baby and she needed to eat. I do feel that it needs to be mentioned that this place was NOT very busy and there is no reason for this length of wait.)

4. When she told us that they still hadn’t started the food, we asked if they could bring out our biscuits at least. She said sure. She brought out 4 biscuits (for our table or 7+ a baby, shrugged and said “that’s all we got. Ran out of biscuits. Y’all want some cornbread?” 🙄

5. Finally, we did get our food and she brought out mine and my husband’s food first. She noted that she “knew the baby needed to eat”. I did appreciate this gesture and that’s the only reason I’m giving this 2 stars.

I’d give the food a solid 3/5 but honestly the service was abhorrent. I will not go back here. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Not sure of our waitresses name, maybe Robin? Either way, I think she might be in the wrong line of work.

The food was delicious. Shirley and Robin were great waitresses. I love their catfish plate with all the fixings.

Delicious chicken livers fried to perfection...well seasoned vegetables...light fluffy cornbread...and scrumptious peach cobbler and pecan cobbler! Yum Yum!!

Not. Impressed. The food is edible but nothing worth paying restaurant prices for, and we had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Unless and until this place changes hands, I will spend my hard-earned money elsewhere, and I will continue to strongly recommend to others that they do the same.

I went to Higdon Square Cafe i was not very impressed the waitress was very rude I bought the all you can eat fish which I have done about 3 times or 4 times now and every other time you got all you can eat coleslaw beans and all the fixin's but for some reason this time they decided they weren't going to give me all you can eat coleslaw and Fixins and beans just to fish I asked why that was and the waitress was real rude and said that's how it always been you just get one bowl of been and coleslaw. but I know darn well it has not been that way in the past. Plus NO WHERE does it say fish only no where. I really love how she told me AFTER I started eating and could not change my mind and get something else. I never felt so ripped off and I will not go back again because it's just not worth the money.

Went to this cafe on the recommendation of our duck boat guide. I know you get what you pay for, but even with a budget combo there should be standards. Our ribeyes came out and right away it was obvious they weren't ribeyes. More like cheap flank steak from Walmart! Half of my steak was gristle, and the part I could eat tasted like old shoe leather. Good steaks shouldn't need a1 or other condiment sauces. This one definitely did, but they were out. No cheese for our baked potato, and the sweet tea tasted like it was strained through my grandfather's old underwear! I would have been better off throwing the steak away and.eating my napkin.
