Broken Yolk Cafe

My travel partner, Max, treated me to breakfast at the Broken Yolk Cafe in Yuma, AZ. He ordered eggs, bacon, and a short stack. He found the pancakes a bit rubbery but with a good flavor. Price $14.

The Belgian Waffle I ordered was light and fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside, and the flavor reminded me of scratch buttermilk pancakes. Price $11.

I thought the coffee was a little bitter for my palate, but Max liked his. My second cup was the same as the first, so I'm assuming it was freshly brewed. I added another cream and it was fine. Indeed, over the leisurely course of our meal, we each drank several cups. Two mugs of endless coffee was $7.

The menu offerings looked good. To be sure, I will return for another helping of Belgian Waffle, and also to sample the Monte Cristo and the various Eggs Benedict selections.

Busy place on a Monday afternoon, but it only took about 30 minutes to be seated. Waitress was friendly and on top of everything. Tried the Mimosa which was delicious and ordered the waffle with eggs and bacon. The waffle and bacon came out crisp and the eggs were to order. Hubby ordered the egg white spinach wrap. Taste wise it was good, but it came out soggy-like the spinach watered out when cooked. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would.

I went with some friends on a Friday afternoon, so it wasn’t too busy. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Our drink orders were taken immediately and brought to us shortly after. We ordered the flight of mimosas. They were very strong (but who’s going to complain about that lol). We then placed our food orders and everything was accurate and we were all satisfied with how it came out! Overall we had a great experience! Great food and awesome environment! Definitely coming back!

The Broken Yolk was a bit underwhelming with all the hype about it and traveling around we see them from time to time in different cities, but the lines are usually long so we don't wait, but this time we finally had time to wait and this one just opened in my town. "The staff" I have nothing to complain about they were all very joyful and happy and just seemed the love their jobs, I did see every other waiter more then my own but the house was packed, so it was all good. But nearly after 45 minutes we finally got our food and to be honest it was very lacking in flavor I even tried my wifes chilaquiles and just no flavor the salsa was canned salsa and just not good at all. The reason for the 3 stars is just because the staff was very friendly they even changed one of the TV's so we could watch the NBA playoffs (Go Suns) if not for them (the staff) it would have been a 1 star.

Amazing food!!!!! Delicious, quick and a little on the pricey side but totally worth it in my opinion. One thing though, our friends orderes the mimosa flight and bloody Mary flight and the mimosas were so delicious to die for!!!! I love bloody Marys but these were the grossest thing have ever ever ever tasted. To begin they were all warm almost hot like tea they tasted super bland and absolutely gross! One of them had pepper as in salt n pepper on the rim 😒😒😒😒😒who Would do that!!!! So gross. The others basically all had the same taste and it was soooo bland. Anywho, food was on point and so delicious. Staff was super friendly and on top of refills!!!!!? Mind you it was packed and took 45 mins to be seated but we'll worth it! We definitely be coming back! Loved it🥰

I finally tried this place and it was great! The food was excellent. My husband and I decided to go eat brunch again since we really enjoyed it the first time. When we walked in and I immediately saw there were small booths available but the hostess lead us to a huge U-shaped booth, she sat us in one of those the last time we were there, it was awkward but we didn’t complain. This time though, there was a big family with several toddlers. It being just me and my husband wanting an enjoyable brunch, we thought it best to sit somewhere else. The hostess then said how about the table top which was on the other side of the family and would’ve been basically the same. I asked if they had anything on the other side of the restaurant where the small booths are at, she said no, then she said how about this table and it was the table right behind the big family. I asked her again if there were any booths available on the other side and she said no, what she offered was the only thing that was available. That was untrue, there were at least 4 open booths on the other side where the small booths are located. So we said thanks and left. I asked my son about this who was a server in the past. He said there’s a monopoly when it comes to servers assigned tables. But he said that ultimately if the customer wanted to sit elsewhere and there were tables available, he would absolutely accommodate the customer. I don’t know if this is the reason the hostess didn’t budge on accommodating us but I will say it left a bad vibe about this restaurant. It appears as if this newer restaurant already succumbed to the Yuma spell of poor customer service.

We arrived on time and it took a good while for us to get seated even though we had a reservation. We opted to sit on the patio and the heaters were so hot we felt like the top of our hair was gonna burn off. 2 of our guests in our party did not get their food until the other 2 of us were almost completely finished. The environment is great it's a lively crowd of people we enjoyed that! Once everybody had their food they enjoyed it. Everything tasted great.

The place is always clean, our server was amazing but, this is the third time I have been there and the third time I had to send my food back because it was cold! The hash browns had no warmth in the middle at all, the ones I got back were so overdone I gave up! My eggs were cold but, I was hungry! My friend not only had cold hash browns but, she ordered her eggs so the whites wouldn’t be runny……they were awful! We are residents and enjoy going to breakfast but, three tries and no more! Sorry! Again the server was a sweetie and your coffee is amazing!

Cute place, great tasting burger but the plate was dirty. Had previous diners egg stains on it and obvious dark smudge on it. Sent it back and was assured the burger would be made again and placed on a clean plate but I don't think it was since the new burger came out five minutes later.
