Chaparral Homemade Ice Cream & Cafe

I give the food and waitress a Five star rating. But the cook/owner? A thumbs down 👎🏼 we may never go here again. Today we brought some friends from CA in here to eat lunch and apparently our waitress, a sweetie, had stepped out for a minute. The cook brought our food out and I saw her asking other tables if the food was theirs, then threw the plates on another empty table. Our waitress stepped back in grabbed the plates and put the two down. As the cook came out with the other two orders I tried to apologize, she threw them on the empty table and stormed back to the kitchen. I was so embarrassed. I had not seen these friends for 37 years and we were busy chatting and apparently didn’t hear the gal calling our order. I apologized to our waitress again and asked her to please tell the cook we were sorry. I’m sorry to say that despite how good the food is and how lovely the waitress has been. We will Not be back 😢

Love the prickly pear ice cream. I got 2 quarts to bring home to MN. It did not last long. I also got some prickly pear syrup. Super on pancakes, ice cream, homemade ice cream, on anything. I cannot find anything like it in Minnesota.

I have been there twice. Food is mediocre, but what was most off putting is the unfriendly staff. I went back the second time just thinking they were having a bad day the first time, but, nope, they are just not friendly people.

Got up-charged for carmel on a banana split even though it was advertised that way. Left my ice cream to melt on the counter while looked for chocolate syrup. won't be back.

Great visit visit today, taking our dogs top get pup cups and ice cream for ourselves as well.
We also met the owner, Barbara Gould, who is a dog lover and insists on staff making pup cups for canine clientele!

Nothing like homemade ice cream! Very tasty and very friendly staff. Plenty of space to sit down at a table and relax.

This is the best ice cream I have ever had add some hot homemade caramel to your ice cream. Please stop on your way to Vegas. Easy in and easy out for big rigs, big rig parking in the back, nice clean bathrooms. The food is Excellent! Stay for lunch. Live Music playing most days. Very friendly atmosphere. Best place to take a break before the big drive to Vegas or Laughlin not much on the way to Vegas.

If your going to post your hours make sure you tell your staff to stay open. Staff locked the door as we walked up 15 minutes before they were suppose to close! And maybe consider opening up later and stay open later than 5. We will not come back due to the rudeness of staff locking us out when they seen us walking up!

We got there right before they closed. They were so accommodating. Ice cream was delicious!

Best ice cream that I have ever eaten.
I've eaten a lot of ice cream in my 75 years, but this is the best, I didn't want it to end!!!!
