This is a hidden gem. The fried bread is amazing and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely pay another visit.
Despite having the largest cinnamon/sugar fried bread in Alaska you'll find far more things at this nice place.
First - friendly people. It's family run and it shows - it has pleasant atmosphere and everyone is very helpful and polite.
Second - I'll bet you wondered what all those local berry's would taste like in jams and jelly's. I did - and these guys sell locally grown and made jams and jelly's. And even better? Locally produced honey from the fire weed that grows all over the place.
It's worth a trip off the main drag - come for the fry bread. But purchase the jams and jelly's too.
Ahhhhh the Alaskan fry bread goodness. It’s like a huge giant doughnut, dusted with copious amount of sugar and cinnamon, what’s not to like about it? (Well except my waistline)
You can smell the fried sugary goodness from a mile away. Just follow your nose.
I was meeting up with the crew who was gallivanting all over Broadway in Skagway. We met them at Klondike and I got introduced to the Klondike Doughboy...Alaskan serendipity primo!
$6 gets you this thin, fried bread, churro tasting fun that is something I've never come across in all my current travels. The friendly staff makes it fresh for right after you order so it comes to you hot and tasty af. When it cools down and you start chomping on that sweet tasty bread, you don't stop until you're done or you can't eat anymore. What is great is how it's not too sweet and the fried dough texture makes it easy to share like a piece of bread. Just share, tear and eat!
The large size also makes it fun to snap/post for your social media fans. Skagway visitors, if you are a fan of churros and/or sugared donuts then a stop at Klondike Doughboy is a must! Do it for the gram! =)

Wonderful place to stop for a snack in Skagway. Be sure to grab a Honey Bear Latte nextdoor as well.

This is the closest thing you’ll get to a donut in Skagway. It’s a sopapilla the size of an elephant ear and so tasty! Friendly staff as well.

The flatbread is great. And make sure you get a shaved ice with the "moose milk" add on. It was the best shaved ice that I have ever tasted!
