I have mixed feelings about this store. The fry bread itself is pretty good- it tastes like a thin flat donut coated in cinnamon and sugar. And you get quite a lot of product for the price. For the price and the taste, I would give a slightly better than average rating.
However, the store workers really let this place down. The employees all looked to be rather young, so I don't want to be too hard on them directly, but management should train better. The employee actually burned me when they handed me the fry bread. They just shove the fry bread (that has just been deep fried in hot oil) at you (via tongs). I expected the bread had some kind of plate or container under it- but nope. I received the hot bread without knowing (or being warned) that they don't use containers and only use one thin paper towel (which does nothing btw). I immediately reacted to the heat, said "ow my hand, that's way too hot" and the employee smirked and pointed to another area that had additional paper towels, like I was somehow supposed to know to grab those before to receive the bread they were handing me? They had no concern for the fact they just burned me at all. Is it not common sense that if it's too hot for you to touch, don't hand it to customers to grab with their bare hands? Walked away from this shop with a huge burn blister, and really irritated.
Wow!! You need to try this while in Skagway! Yummy friend sour dough, then sprinkled in sugar and cinnamon. They cook to order so it is slways hot our of the fryer! So good!
Let's get ready to crumble!! There is no question, Fried Bread is a gift from the gods. This benevolent piece of dough embodies everything that is good in world... it also probably has healing properties of some sort. To consume it is to become a better human. So go and try it!
Yes! Yes! Yes! These rock so much we came back later in the day for a second one! This small unassuming gift shop on a side street of Skagway has these absolutely amazing fried dough treats for only $6! They are cooked to order, not greasy at all and are covered in the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar. Service is quick and the people working there are friendly. It’s not fancy and your napkin is a paper towel but it’s totally worth getting. Drinks and souvenirs are also available.
The fry dough was delicious. Perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar and not greasy at all. It was prepared when ordered so it was warm, fresh and fabulous! You’re on vacation, why not treat yourself with a sweet tasty treat! Staff was super friendly and the store had other sweet treats for sale and neat items.
Fried dough with cinnamon sugar made right in front of you. FRIED DELICIOUSNESS. Support the local economy and treat yo' self. Share with a friend or two if you have guilt, but I won't make you. You can eat that thing alone. And everyone you pass will ask where you got it.
Klondike Doughboy was absolutely AMAZING! Nothing like giant fired bread coated in cinnamon and sugar! This place was hopping!! The staff (mostly made up of young adults) were kind, friendly, and helpful even though you could tell they were moving as fast as they could to accommodate all the customers in the store. Definitely a place to put on your to-do list if you visit Skagway!

Doughboy was our one "true" destination in Skagway. Just follow your nose and your heart, and it will not disappoint your mouth.

Cover with sugar and cinnamon, hot and fresh. Big enough for 2 to share. Very delicious! The best way to start the Skagway adventure!
