Excellent dinner and dessert! I would give this 5 stars but we waited over an hour for the meal to be served. Management didn't even offer us a small basket of bread while waiting. A small acknowledgement of the delay would have been nice.
Our first time visiting Sitka, Be prepared to pay more than what you're used to. Cost of living is reflected in the menu of this finer dining establishment. The staff was less than personable but they were efficient and professional. Brandee was our server, kitchen brought our food out. We enjoyed our meal, it was a quiet Sunday evening. Was quick to get food. ** this post updated after the fact now that I've been charged an additional amount more than we signed for. Charged $97.42 total, over the amount shown on my slip. We definitely did not tip because the service was not friendly.
$38 for a plate of fish n chips is ridiculous! Make sure you ask before you order. I would have never ever guessed that would be the price. It was good, but that price is absurd. Basic fries and 3 pieces of fish.
Ended up going here twice on our recent trip to Sitka! Completely delicious and authentic Italian food - Lemon Crab linguine, mushroom risotto and the made to order Italian Donut we’re all incredible! Interesting and delicious wine from Uruguay, and very friendly staff. We so so delighted by this find! Highly recommend
It took just shy of an hour for us to go from being sat to receiving our appetizer. The fellas working the floor appeared to have no sense of urgency. There were pretty inattentive... We did not get checked up on but once while we were there. Our waters were not refilled until we had to notify them. When asked about our appetizer after nearly 30 minutes, he definitely had the "appetizer? What appetizer?" face on, so pretty sure that was forgotten.
The halibut nuggets were huge and delicious. Best part of the dinner. The lobster ravioli were huge, but really tangy and didn't taste the lobster through the sauce. The Bolognese was a success, and the lemon crab linguini was yummy but super super saucy which kindof drowned the crab.
Overall, the food was fine, but not impressed with the service. But I wouldn't make a point to come again for the service and price of the experience nor would I recommend it.
The worst dining experience we’ve had in a decade. Service delivered with a frown and negative customer attitude. A $65 piece of poorly prepared salmon with lukewarm vegetables (FYI, go down the street to Break for a far superior dish of the same for almost a third of the price). AVOID. This is a horrible tourist trap.
About the only good thing I have to say about this place is that they are open on Sunday evenings, otherwise I would have been at Beak or Ludwig's. I gave up waiting to be greeted on arrival after being ignored for several minutes, and seated myself at the bar. The bartender was engaged to begin with, but wouldn't come back to take my food order despite catching his eye several times. The seafood chowder special was hugely underwhelming. It was served in a very shallow bowl so not only was it tiny, but it was halfway cold by the time it reached me. Being in Alaska I expected delicious chunks of salmon and halibut, but the contents were all so tiny it was hard to tell the contents, beyond teensy pieces of clam. It was tasty enough, but it's really hard to go wrong with chowder. I paid $16 for this experience. I heard that the restaurant at the Sitka Hotel used to be good, but definitely not any more.
Daniel saved the day from a bad night. I was not impressed with the vibe, treatment overall of what’s promoted as ambience. I am not a cruise ship person who will never be back, I’ll be back and thanks to Daniel MAY come back to this spot to spend my money year round but maybe not. Make sure your employees know how to have fun like Daniel he’s got a good vibe

We are visiting from Tennessee and the seafood chowder and lobster pasta were amazing. Absolutely can’t say enough good things about the food here!
