Homeside Restaurant - Cloverdale Rd.

It doesn't look like much when you drive past, but I was practically dying of hunger I had to stop in. One of the definitions of hole-in-the-wall. I ordered the fantastic, cooked to order Hamburger Steak and my wife got the "hand-breaded" in-house chicken tenders. All I got to say is WOW....no words to really describe other than that. A classic Hamburger Steak cooked right and topped with Gravy and Onions. There are a ton of options available between the regular menu and the Daily Specials. Not to mention the daily $5.00, $6.00, $7.00 specials, this can seem overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

Service had really gone downhill. I'm sitting here as I type this. I've sat here for 17 mins. Watched customers that came in after receiving service. My wife and I haven't spoken to anyone yet. I understand being understaffed but the waitress played favorites and chitchated in length with other customers. Also an awful place to pick up door dash orders.

We ordered the fish plates, first thing I noticed is it is NOT catfish!!! Next on their hush puppies I had told them I didn't want jalapenos but I did want onions in them and they said no problem we can do that. Evidently not because part of my hush puppies had the jalapenos and the others were plain fried cornbread so thick they were not good!! I will not be ordering from them again!!!

Homeside has great food at an excellent price. They're the cheapest "meat and 3" place that I"m aware of, and you also get dessert! I love the kraut and wienies they have, it's fantastic. The atmosphere is your standard country restaurant fare with old rusty signs and various trinkets around the walls. It's nice without being too busy. The staff are usually friendly, but often seem a bit overworked, being a bit slow to take orders, bring refills, etc. I'm always here for lunch, so this may be different at dinnertime. Despite that, you'll leave with a stomach full of delicious food if you come by, so give it a shot!

The food was delicious. The server was outstanding.

They charged my card 2 times. And said they didn't. I use a chime card it tells u right then. Nothing to eat with in bag hot sauce .25 a little pack. Never again

Placed a pickup order and let them know upfront that I had a coupon. When I picked up the food, the coupon was handed back to me and I was told I couldn’t use it because I had ordered a special. He should’ve been told this on the phone so I could change my order. My order was also incorrect when I checked it. This is poor customer service and we won’t be back.

The food was delicious, the server was wonderful. Will be back. Wonderful atmosphere, peaceful.

My wife and I thought we'd try this place as it was down the street from where we live. My wife ordered the Tuesday lunch special, smoked turkey with mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and I had her 3rd side, fried potatoes and onions. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast, hash browns with toast.
My food was decent and edible, the toast was fried but wasn't too bad, overall it was ok. My wife didn't eat much and asked her why then I found out for myself too. The turkey was very dry but the Mac and cheese was disgusting, it tasted like sour milk and was very runny. She said her mashed potatoes were nice but that was it.
The waitress was nice and friendly, I asked her what the Mac and cheese was made from and she replied Velveeta. Wow - Worst Mac and cheese we have ever tasted, including tinned or dehydrated stuff. The waitress did offer to replace it with something else but my wife had gone off food at this point. Another Florence diner that disappoints sadly!
