Great little ice cream, coffee, popcorn shop! (To all the Nut Allergen folks: they DO have options and I know that at least two of them are delish!) They also offer some great ice cream choices from Old Dutch-Mobile's best IC parlor ever!

This place was awful. The young employees were great but I expected that this place had their own ice cream! I never would've paid for Blue Bell ice cream! Even Kroger's ice cream is better than Blue Bell's. So we got that coffee float drink that someone local raved about and it was only OK. Not impressed. AL needs a Graeter's... then you'd all know what real ice cream is like.

Nice enough. Staff friendly but not particularly warm or inviting. Coffee was just coffee. Not great, not terribly bad. Even though it wasn't flavored it had a hint of flavoring. We each had a different version (regular, decaf) and both picked up on that hint of flavoring. If you aren't going for coffee: it appears to be a great place for ice cream, popcorn 🍿, cookies, etc.

Mr. Gene's Beans has been one of our family's very favorite places to meet up and enjoy the most delicious and refreshing Ice Cream, Milk Shakes, Floats, especially the Legendary, "Fairhope Float" for many years! It is a must visit when our Grandchildren are visiting us! This has been one of the most consistently Excellent Businesses around for over 20 years! We love Mr. Gene's Beans Ice Creams and Candies! Cute ice cream shoppe in downtown Fairhope, close to shopping, bars, and restaurants. Friendly staff and large ice cream selection, with seating indoors and outdoors.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee - barista was very welcoming…coffee was OK (had the local Southern Pecan) - to early in the day to try the famous Fairhope Float (ice cream and coffee). But look forward to coming back and trying one.

Sweet little place, the first woman greeted me kindly while the younger blonde college girl treated me like it was inconvenient for her. I went back up to her and explained that I would like another drink since mine was extremely bitter for a sweet drink. She just looked at me while I explained it was just too bitter and had to ask if it was alright if I could get a different drink. I did not mean to cause an inconvenience, just want to spend my money on a drink I like. Customer service is key for a small business.

My kids live Gene's Beans! Of course they do - ice cream! We love the kids cups. They're not terribly expensive and our kids get a nice sweet treat. If you live in Fairhope, check this place out. If you're visiting - check this place out. It's a must-see!

Whether you're looking for a cooling summer scoop of ice cream or milkshake, or a warm cup of coffee on a cool winter day this is the perfect location. We always enjoy the friendly staff and great casual atmosphere. Sit on the front porch and people watch the Shoppers going by.

Mr Gene's Beans is a Fairhope Shop that sells the Best Home made Ice Cream for a very reasonable price. We used to go therewith our daughter and brought our Grand daughters there last Sunday. We All enjoyed our choice of ice cream flavors which were Coffee, Rocky Road, Cookies and Cream and Dutch Chocolate. It was busy but service was fast and friendly.
