Gatos and Beans is an awesome facility in Avondale that partners with a rescue to house and adopt out cats. The cats were all really sweet, calm and friendly. The coffee was nice and I just really enjoy the concept. The employees and patrons were all very friendly.
When you adopt a cat they are spayed/neutered and microchipped for a really affordable fee. I love the cat play areas and all the toys provided. The cats are well cared for in a serene setting.
I recommend making a reservation which is very simple online.

Get an hour or half hour of time in the cat room, comes with a drink (upgrades available for $3). Watching people interact with the cats is pretty great too though. There's a very small seating area where you can enjoy your coffee and watch cats through the window.

I had a great time at this cat cafe. I love the concept, and all the kittens were friendly and affectionate. The staff is very accommodating and I would definitely visit again.

The staff is so so SO friendly. I personally have never interacted with cats before and I believe it was Mark who gave me a bit of a run down. After my hour ended I asked to stay longer (was having too much fun, bonded with an older kitty named Laura ❤️), didn’t end up using the full hour and offered to pay the half of the time. They told me not to worry about it. I think the owner was there and made me a great iced coffee at her recommendation. Overall great establishment and I see myself becoming a regular.

Everyone here was super kind and friendly! The entire space is very clean and well-taken care of, including the cat room. The kitties are spoiled rotten and so sweet! The coffee was great too! Such a fun experience, I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Love this place! I’ve been several times over the years and always had a wonderful experience. The staff is so nice. I even had my birthday there last year! The cats are always so cute and they are well taken care of. The price is reasonable as well! I definitely recommend Gatos and Beans!

The drinks were yummy and the kitties were so sweet! The kids there got to play with the playful kittens and the adults got to pet the sleepier and more docile cats <3 There were some very “active” children during the hour I reserved a spot for and so I didn’t feel like I got enough Kitty time since they were all hiding or already being given attention. I ended up paying for an extra hour to satisfy my needs, and this lovely baby, Hershey, came right up to me and hopped onto my lap and stayed there for the entire hour, purring and napping happily. Which is EXACTLY what I came for! I hope all these babies can get their furever homes! Thanks for the great experience! - The cat loving gal from NH

The people here who are leaving negative reviews because they weren’t able to see the cats because they didn’t have a reservation and the room was at capacity are dumb. Their website CLEARLY states reservations are recommended. They have a capacity limit for a reason. It is in place to make sure that everyone who enters the room will be able to see and pet a cat and to not overwhelm the cats in the room.
The complaints that the cats were sleeping. THEY’RE CATS. They sleep almost all day!
And a complaint about the cat room having high shelves to climb and sleep on. Anyone who knows anything about cats knows that cats love to climb and be up high. These cats LIVE here. They are not there solely for your entertainment. The owners are making sure to give these cats the best enclosure possible for their health, happiness, safety, etc. The cats come first here, and that’s how it should be.
Onto the positives- I love this place. The owners are so kind and welcoming. They will answer any question you have about the cats. They know their backstory and truly care for these cats. It is also nice to support a place that believes that everyone should have equal human rights. I hope this place is around for many many years.

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. all the cats are non-aggressive and very chill, the area has plenty of room to enjoy playing with the cats, and you can feel the genuine love the owners have put into this place. the only gripe i have was the coffee felt a little watered down and was lukewarm when I got it, but it tasted great.
