I have dined at the Old Shell store a couple times. The first was because it was recommended, the second was because it is so awesome! I have tried the Whiskey Burger and the Jalapeno Burger and they were both great! Their naked goods are fresh, large and delicious. And, if you like a cold draft beer with your meal, they have a great selection!

This little place is what a buddy I remember the most from a 2-week camping trip. We were in the Badlands for a day, at Mount Rushmore, through the Black Hills, touched the clouds and tasted the stars, yet spending an hour here really made an impression upon us. Living in DC and my buddy hailing from Florida, we don't often get an opportunity to get to places where the vibe is so mellow and welcoming. Couldn't have times it better with the amazing burgers and beer. The house picture is across from the tavern, yet it still caught our eye. Friendly chat with a few locals, really amazing warm people. Yes, I'll be back!!

Old shell store is the only store in shell. The food is good and prices fair. It's a wonderful place to have dinner or lunch. Outside seating is very scenic, shaded, and comfy. You can buy beer and wine by the glass or package. Visit old shell store if you are camping west of Burgess junction on 14 in the big horns.

I wanted a chicken sandwich but they don't serve them anymore. Went with the whiskey burger and I'm not quite sure why everyone is touting the burgers on these reviews. Average at best. Decent size but low quality beef. And it was $15

The Old Shell Store is a wonderful find. I had a beer and homemade banana bread. The banana bread was some of the best I've ever had (and I've eaten my share). I'll return for more (and sample the burgers).

A great selection of drinks, a cinnamon roll that was excellent, and an apple tart that was seriously to die for! The staff was really helpful and super nice. Highly recommend this exceptionally cute country stop over!

Very nice place. You order and pay at the counter, get a beeper, and pick up your food from the counter when it is done. The dining room is pretty small but there is an option to sit outside under some large and gorgeous cottonwood trees. The food was very good. I have two things I did not like. I would like if they had better ventilation in the kitchen. The kitchen heated up the entire building and it made the place a bit smokey. Also, I would like if they would put a clear coat of epoxy or something on their tables so it is a smooth surface. There were notches in the wood that food collected in. Over all I would go back again.

Baked Goods! Yes, the food is amazing. Best fried chicken I've had since I lived in the south for a few years. Burgers are amazing. Sweet potatoe fries are the best version of themselves. But the baked goods.... are some of the best I've ever had. I've even been to Buddy's bakery in NJ (Cake Boss) but the stuff here might beat it. The buttercream frosting cookie sandwiches may be the crown jewel here but these baked goods need a social media presence of their own, it's insane. I'd go on but if I do youll think I'm setting the bar too high and there's no way and you won't believe me so please, just go in and get a cookie or piece of cake or anything else. EVERYTHING is amazing.

We got a brownie for later...oh MAN is it good! Burgers looked legit...if it wasn't for the catered lunch we would DEFINITELY eat a burger here! Menu looked good and heard praises from others.
