The River Coffee and Cream

I live almost 30 miles away, yet I always try to take a Saturday and come here for some great coffee. Friendly staff, great coffee and food, and an amazing deck view of the river!

Great coffee! Great Atmosphere! Great view!! Only thing I wish was that they were open later. Otherwise an amazing coffee shop.

Visited The River yesterday for the first time with a dear friend. What a wonderful gem tucked in down by the river!! Great coffee, food and atmosphere!! Staff is friendly and we felt just like we were at home. Indoor and outdoor seating makes it perfect year round! Can't wait to go back!

Quaint and cute place! Love the small town vibes. Stopped for brunch and it was incredible! From the coffee, to the pulled pork sandwich, to the AMAZING blueberry scone! Enjoyed every bite! Support local 💚

[Only 1 thing negative for my husband and me: the basic (American?) black coffee tasted delicious but the caffeine levels got our hearts racing, made us dizzy and we had to rest for a couple hours!] Since then I found the decaffeinated coffee, green tea latte, beet green tea latte and caramel hot cider delicious. I have tried 3 of the sandwich or bagels & each were tasty. Pleasant environment for visiting &/or enjoying the views of the Fox River. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Very amazing atmosphere while you wait for them to text you that your table is ready. Once you're seated the wait staff is extremely attentive and expect to be visited by two managers asking how everything is while you eat. Amazing experience and would definitely not pass it up. You get what you pay for no doubt.

Absolutely love this place. A ton of seating in a very cozy atmosphere with lovely scenery. Drinks are outstanding (had a specialty fall drink and it was delicious) and absolutely phenomenal, moist, tasty baked goods (such as a white chocolate raspberry scone). 10/10 would recommend and 10/10 will come here again.

People were so nice and patient. Egg breakfast sandwiches one bagel one croissant both were fresh and tasty. Done correctly! The prices were good and the drinks all were tasty too. Ginger turemic latte, an Italian soda with your choice of flavor, teas that we received extra raspberry syrup to sweeten. Atmosphere is relaxed, we chose to sit outside because of covid, but the dining area was very clean,as the bathroom was as well. Would recommend to anyone even with little kids to make your way there. I chose it because of the high reviews on google.

We stopped in after seeing a little sign at the roundabout to get across the river. I had the chocolate covered banana hot mocha. It was delicious. My companion had the blackberries and cream iced latte and a blueberry scone. Everything was excellent. Great, friendly service as well.

Every time I visit I am blown away by the peaceful, cozy ambiance of this coffee shop--it's chic yet comfortable. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming; I am always greeted with a genuine smile. Not to mention, their coffee and chicken salad sandwiches are delicious! I'll be back!
