The Original

Wonderful dinner with visitors from the West Coast. We looked for a place with a creative, tasty cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere and The Original meet our (and our foodie friends) expectations. The dishes were very well prepared, carefully seasoned, palatable yet very unique. We enjoyed the scallop and halibut dishes. The service was superb. Highly recommended!

Meal was delicious. Waiter was kind, jovial, and a pleasure to discuss the area with. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because we were seated outside due to COVID-19 restrictions and the tree above us has many berry's fall on the metal roof causing much noise. It really took away from the whole experience in the beginning. As time went on we ignored it as the food was the main attraction. Hopefully the inside dining area opens soon.

Stopped in for a late Brunch on Easter Sunday...

Staff was very welcoming and accommodating - Kevin behind the bar put together a wonderful cocktail based on what I asked for, Gabe was informative but not pushy and Eric the owner was very engaging.

Food was spot on across the board, our party of six each ordered something different and everything was flavorful and prepared wonderfully.

I highly recommend The Original for dinner or just to stop in for a couple of well crafted cocktails.

Great new addition to the East Side!

Super great. Went for brunch. Loved the atmosphere, and the food was even better. Our server recommended a dish that I wasn't considering, but took his advise...it was absolutely fantastic. I look forward to returning for either brunch or dinner.

I do have to say, my one complaint is that they charged $2 for a beer chaser with the Bloody Mary. What? Just add the $2 to the drink and bring the chaser. I mean, we live in Wisconsin where a beer chaser is automatically expected. Just saying.

This is a great place for an intimate dinner with a loved one or close friends. From start to finish, every meal I've had here has been exceptional. It has upscale supper club vibes, good portions, and cocktails I haven't seen elsewhere. The staff is laid-back and attentive, with high class manners while being very welcoming to all in this charming neighborhood spot.

With a constantly changing menu and an emphasis on fresh ingredients this place never ceases to impress me. Priced very very reasonably and the food has constantly been amazing. The cocktail selection is unlike anywhere else that I’ve experienced. Try the Ruffled Feathers if you get the chance. Just about everything on the ever changing menu is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. Craig and Eric the owners even took time in there busy night to genuinely make sure our experience was going well. They haven’t been around long but I can see them soon amazing things with this place. Definitely worth stopping in.

Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice night out. Food is top notch. Cocktails are excellent and the service is great. It has a nice unpretentious neighborhood feel with a well developed and executed seasonal menu.

Absolutely top drawer! The food was outstanding and the experience was delightful. Co-Owner Craig is a superb host. He makes you feel welcome from minute 1 and guides you through all aspects of the menu and remains fully engaged. I can't recommend this restaurant any more highly. The Original is a fabulous addition to Milwaukee's restaurant scene!

Took my wife and daughter here for Sunday brunch. I didn't know what Chilaquiles was when I looked at the menu. I'm so glad I took the waiter's advice and ordered it. It was delicious. I will definitely bring the family back here. The weather was nice so we sat on the outdoor patio.

The Original is a great place always - but their idea for the pandemic is special. We had a wonderful night with our older parents, who due to the pandemic have not gone out out to eat, and won't for quite awhile. To be able to have a table to ours selves and safely have a great night out was very special - and much needed by all. Thank you!
