Backroads Coffee

I stopped at the coffee shop for a double shot espresso/ latte and a orange cranberry scone it was delish what more can I say people there also terrific

This is a great coffee shop, it's cozy, friendly, and tasty.

Delicious coffee and came out surprisingly fast!! Only waited about 2 minutes for my iced caramel macchiato and it tasted wonderful. Thank you to the kind ladies behind the counter :))

I was excited to try this coffee house while I was visiting Hayward from out of town and I was very disappointed by the service my family and I received from both the cashier and the barista. They were both unfriendly and when they made one of the drinks incorrectly and only begrudgingly offered to correct it when they realized their mistake. I hope they were having a rare bad day because the customer service was very, very poor.

Edited to add: I am changing my review to 3 stars because of management’s response to my review. I emailed the manager and received a response that the issue had been addressed with staff. I appreciate how it was handled and would consider giving Backroads Coffee another chance if I’m in the area again.

One of my favorite places for coffee and a sweet. Check them out, they won't disappoint!!

We went here for a quick cup of coffee before leaving Hayward for the weekend. The staff, food, and decor were all fantastic! I especially liked the local art they had in their walls. If we had more time we probably would have bought an item or two. My wife liked her coffee but I thought mine was ok, nothing special. I think when we go back I'll try a different drink and if/when I like it I'll bump the review up to 5 stars. I had their Turtle drink which I didn't care for, fyi.

The staff is really nice and the service is great.
They have a great selection of drinks, grab and go food, and bulk coffee.
Best coffee shop in Hayward and the surrounding area.
I look forward to visiting when I'm in Hayward.

We ordered food. We waited. It never arrived. My husband checked in with the staff and we were told they were "working on it" and "it's almost ready'. 45 minutes later someone came out to tell us our order never made it to the kitchen. We were refunded the price of our food but were still charged for the drinks we'd had. No apology from the person who screwed our order up and lied about it. Would not recommend this place at all.

Yummy coffee & bakery treats. Great atmosphere, space for meeting friends or working.
