Pier 4 Cafe & Smoke House

Amazing breakfast at a great price - the Denver Omelette was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Our waitress, Alexa, was outstanding. Definitely check this place out.

Is Pier 4 under new ownership since 2019? Food is not as good as last year.

In 2019 we rode over 1 hour to eat there at least 6 times and the food was great. Today we ordered our usual, potato pancakes, eggs and bacon/sausage, the pancakes were burnt, and had no flavor. We told the waitress about the burnt food but to no avail. We had to ask for syrup, butter, applesauce and pepper. She never did bring the pepper for the eggs. Eggs without salt or pepper are bland. The waitress did not even offer to adjust our $20 bill.

I'm really disappointed as we use to tell everone we know to drive to Alma and go to Pier 4.

While on a motorcycle trip, we ate here on the recommendation of some locals. Glad we listened. The smell of fresh cinnamon buns was too tempting to pass up. Food was fantastic and the staff, pleasant. Good view of the river while we ate breakfast. This will definitely be a staple on rides around WI

Best smoked pork I've had in years. Great service and beautiful location.

Went here this morning to grab breakfast after fishing. At first I thought it was a cute little place and has a family atmosphere. The outside is deceiving though because inside it's very small and cramped. After being seated we had our order taken and then waited and waited for our food. 2 Smokehouse omelettes, biscuits and gravy and a #4. After almost an hour we finally got our food. The pulled pork in the omelettes tasted horrible. You could tell it was smoked and then reheated. It reminded me of the pre made stuff you can find at a grocery store. Next (and this was truly disappointing) was the biscuits and gravy. First off they were barley warm and still had some almost frozen like spots. The gravy tasted like eating chalk powder. You could tell that it was not made with a roux. Tasted like flour, water and pepper with sausage. Pretty much the good things we had was the toast. And although the service was decent our waitress forgot things and we barley saw her. Overall I can see where the hype comes from because people want to indulge in the small town culture but it was a complete let down. If you want good BBQ and smokehouse food that's amazing drive the additional 6 miles to Nelson and go to J&J BBQ, now that place is amazing!

Great place to eat! We were there for lunch, but they serve breakfast until 1:00, so I had an omelette--they were open to substitutions and changes (I wanted a 2 egg omelette, 3 egg omelettes were on the menu). They had a good variety of menu items, what we had was tasty and well-prepared, and the price was reasonable. Also the decor is interesting/eclectic, and it's cozy with a lovely view of the river. We will be going back.

Not good from the get go. At the front door, cash or check only. Breakfast until 11:30am...on a Sunday!!! It's 2017. Get a credit card machine and pay the 4% fee. Raise your prices 4% if it's a hardship. Even fast food serves breakfast ALL day long! It's what people want. Had a chef salad. Fancy bitter greens only. Turkey stuffing croutons with sage flavor. Miniscule dab of dressings. All in all... terrible! Red the waitress was the best thing of the whole experience.

What a great place to have some good food! It sits right on the river bank at Lock And Dam #4 on the Mississippi River. It’s my “go to” for breakfast in the mornings. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy Pier 4 Cafe!

My hubby's burger was good, my pulled pork was not truly pulled pork. It was chunks and tough. None of their staff was masked and one of the employees was eating in the kitchen by the prep area. Will probably not stop again

The pulled pork burger was delicious! Definitely worth the stop. Staff was super friendly and the view right off the pier was great.
