I visited back before they closed for the virus. Slow service, rude staff, and I'm not sure they know the difference between a latte and a cappuccino. They keep 1 person in the store so everything takes forever and there isn't a hand washing sink in sight. There's much better coffee to be had and at places that actually open at appropriate times for coffee. 9am? Really???

Highly recommend adding this to your itenerary -- be aware of the location change King of Clubs and Joker Brewing are co-located at 113 Palace Ln Unit D, Williamsburg, VA 23185 (Oct 2020). At this facility you get to see where/how they roast the coffee and brew the kombucha. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Enjoy many samples of both different coffee beans/roasts and kombucha.

Edited 2/19/20 to revise star rating and address the response from management.
My last visit was horrible. Decided to give them another chance on this trip and they're closed even though their temporary sign about heating issues said they should be open, and neither Google, their phone message, nor Facebook have been updated to reflect any change. Issues happen and we all get that, but having a sign saying you're going to be open temporary hours due to heating issues, and then not actually being open those hours and not updating your hours via any other method isn't cool. I hope they get things figured out soon, as their kombucha is pretty good even if their coffee drinks aren't great.

We visited for the first time today and are completely understanding that this is a new place. I actually had to think about the question, "do you recommend?" because honestly, I would not go around recommending this as a must-try; however, my experience was not bad and I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to go here. I have high hopes that it will continue to get better and hope to come back in maybe 6 months and be able to give a better rating. As far as today's experience:
We decided to try this place out because we were in the area and had seen on FB yesterday that they had quiche and had previously seen that they had waffles, etc. so we thought we would try a local place with good coffee and some food.
We were greeted by a very friendly barista who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and I immediately felt that this would be a great place to come with friends to hang out or relax after some shopping. I loved the music!!
I asked about food offerings and was told the only food was the pastries in the case, but the barista did not know what kind they were. I asked about quiche because I had seen it on FB, so she went in the back to see if they had some, and sure enough, they did.
We ended up with 2 slices of quiche, a pastry, a latte, and a cup of hot coffee, which came to about $27. The quiche was so good but was served cold and would have been better warm (maybe personal preference), the pastry was delicious, the latte was pretty good, and the cup of coffee was served at room temperature. What really got me was that another customer came in after we ordered and sat down, and his drink was served prior to ours. The barista was super nice and I really don't mean to complain about her specifically; I just think some additional training is needed.
Although the pastry was very good, I'm having a hard time understanding how it was $5. Despite a room temperature cup of coffee, the flavor of the coffee itself was very good. We love supporting local businesses and love that this business is also supporting local businesses (quiche, pastries, etc) and we don't mind paying more for quality, local food, but to me - our visit today was not worth $27.
I know this is a new business but would like to suggest that in the future, maybe creamer besides International Delight could be available (something local to VA, maybe, if there is such a thing.) This is just a suggestion and not a complaint.
We really hope you guys do well and will be back in several months to give it another try.

Place was clean and inviting. The girl behind the counter was very nice and friendly. Two issues. The cups were very cheap. The first cup I broke inside the establishment all over the counter. I got a second cup of nitro iced coffee, and then proceeded to break it again, all over my car. The cup split without much pressure. They had paper straws, which left for more than 10 minutes, was almost unusable. Second issue was the nitro claim. There really was none. It was just cold iced coffee. Coffee was decent, could have used a bit more roast for a dark roast. But to bring it back, place was nice, barista was very pleasant, but get some new cups, based on this alone I won't be returning.

My wife got there after they were closed, the owner still let her in and let her try samples. She was thoroughly impressed with the customer service. Kombucha was good too!

4.5 Review - Amazing coffee, the Kombucha made my stomach ache though. This isn't their fault, which is why I left a 5

5 stars all the way. Joseph’s kombuchas are unique and amazing. Toby’s coffee roast blends are out of this world!

I had the Capone, the Coolidge (both coffee cocktails), and the charcuterie board: cheese, meats, crackers, fruit. The interior has a stylishly executed mobster theme, the music plays quietly in the background, and the drinks are masterfully made. The drinks take some time to make; plan to stay for a bit and take a welcome break from the outlet crowd.

This is a great little place. Really cool variety and veteran owned. The staff were very friendly and the coffee was great.
