I was very excited about the place. The food is not bad. Nice atmosphere and friendly people. The major deficiency is the customer service and tipping upfront. There is no motivation for a server to do a good job if gratuity has already been given. Customer service is struggling. When they bring you food, you have to wait for your silverware or get their attention to bring it to you. Ordered espresso and had to wait 30 minutes instead of getting it right away and enjoy while waiting for the main order. No napkins. The waiter running around with the food not knowing who ordered it. I want your business to succeed, please improve your customer service model. Thank you. "TIPS"= To Insure Prompt Service. This is as old as time itself.

I’ve tried almost all the pastries and some of their breakfast sandwiches and coffee! I give it a 10 star rating out of 5! Just a very pleasant atmosphere from the moment you walk into this place! Virginia Beach GRANIER rocks!!! Did I mentioned their servers are awesome too? 😋🥰 well now you know! Give them a try! You are not going to be disappointed!

Absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. Our family are regulars.
Regular orders: omelette, pastries, baguette, coffee drinks, and orange juice.

Granier is the absolute best for service, atmosphere and delectable European treats. The bakery items are fresh and taste as though they are straight from Rome. Highly recommend the Nutella croissant and the ham/gruyere sandwich.

Virginia Beach can use good artisan bakeries. This one isn't there but it might be. Ordered espresso in hopes of getting a Spanish espresso, unfortunately it was not that even though the company has Spanish origins. The espresso lacked the robust caramel velvety texture one should expect. They also did not have a quality sugar to match with a quality espresso. The wait for food was incredibly long due to a printer error. Not entirely sure what happened to the croissants but they lacked the telltale curve, they did have a crumb inside but it wasn't spectacular. Not sure if it's ingredients or execution. The baguette wasn't all that. The taste seemed off with a grocery store flavor and a crust that was just too thick. I also tried the croque madame and the soft egg croissant. These two items were the best items but the croissant was still subpar. The wilted greens included with each were very good. Not sure which cheese was used in the croque madame but the bread wasn't a brioche style and had a thick crust as well. The location had a recent grand opening the day before and I hope that the bugs get worked out and quality improves with time. I think there are still a number of local artisan bakeries that are superior to this one and worth going to.

What a disappointment. I called in to purchase pastries in the morning, arranging to pick them up at 2:45 after I got off of work, paying for them in advance. Unfortunately for me, I had an emergency meeting at the end of the day and would not make it there before they closed at 3. I called the store and let them know I would not make it, please refrigerate them, and I would come by the next day at the same time to pick them up. It was agreed upon. When I arrived to pick up my pastries at 2:45 as I said I would, I was told by a manager that she had thrown them away. I was floored. I had paid for them, and couldn't understand why they had been discarded. She said it was because I didn't come during the day. I tried to explain to her that I work, and the time was agreed upon with another employee, and if there was an issue, I should have been told in advance.

I was expecting flaky & buttery croissants and it was not that. The croissants were so THIN!!! Ordered a salmon bagel as well and the bagel was tough. My expectations were higher since it’s a bakery and I was very disappointed. Had to wait 25 minutes for it. I also don’t appreciate the “fake good reviews” from their family members.
