What an awesome little cafe tucked away right in the middle of the Regent University campus. I enjoyed the rustic, low-key vibe, but (more importantly) the coffee was great!
I ordered a light roast pour over, and it had a clean, bright taste. I look forward to visiting again soon.
Hidden gem inside Regent University's Dede Student Resource Building. There's a signage that clues you into the cafe haven find inside. Upon entering the building, go straight down, make a right onto a hallway. You know you're headed in the right direction if you see a gift shop on the left right before you go through Cafe Moka's entrance. Inside you'll get the feeling of old-timey glamor where there are tons of clear glass lights from the ceiling against a backdrop of dark mahogany interior. The entire space is dim and huge. It's quiet too, perfect for working on your laptop, even research work akin to being at a library... You're greeted with a smile by young barista and counter staff most probably students at Regent doing what they like to do in between classes and school commitments. The menu on the wall shows a variety of drinks from hot chocolate to signature lattes to smoothies...I ordered the coffee crunch latte. There are cold canned/bottled beverages by the counter and some pastries on display. Stickers are available for sale. The coffee crunch latte was delicious! Definitely will come back to spread out and work!
Love this place, cozy with a rustic modern style and soft music playing. Perfect to relax in a homey atmosphere. The cafe mocha is the best i've had and my daughter had a salty caramel hot cocoa, very yummy!
The atmosphere of the dining area is very comfortable and spacious. I met here with a friend to catch up and we ended up hanging out for over an hour!
I had a cafe latte that was served to me in a big mug. The foam was perfect the drink wasn't over-brewed and tasted fresh. The menu offers a great variety of drinks between coffee, espresso, tea, and smoothies. They also have a section with unique hand-crafted drinks on the menu.
There is nothing boring about this place. The location threw me off when I visited it and it seems to be out of the way from other major shopping centers. It's on the corner of a major intersection but that area is almost completely a residential area. The shopping center that it's in is a strip of maybe 4 or 5 businesses that are the first floor of a high-end apartment apartment building... I thought I was in the wrong place at first, but once you get inside, it's great!
I recommend this coffee bar to anyone who is looking for something out of the ordinary and wanting to try something new, and of course to anyone looking for a good latte.
I actually stumbled across Cafe Moka while waiting on a friend to get of class and have been going back ever since! It's a very cool, hip spot for people to hang out, or just study. People are friendly and the staff was really helpful with my selection. I've tried a few drinks but my go to is the White Chocolate Moka.

I have to drive around for a bit to find a spot or be prepared to walk. To sum it up establishment is clean, drinks are great, and people are welcoming.
Working nearby, this coffee shop is within walking distance, which might make you think I'd be a regular, but in each of my three attempts to give this place a chance, I have walked away disappointed. Even though there is ample seating and they have regular mugs lying around, I have only been offered my drinks in paper cups. The price for each drink is 50 cents to $1 too high for their product. And they don't seem to get the proportions of coffee to (whatever) right... their drinks have come across as bland to me. Perhaps they need a new roaster!
This place is okay. I think it is only as popular as it is because it is convenient. The decor and environment is very comfortable and laid back. The coffee is not that great and overpriced. The few times I received coffee from this location it always tastes water down. It never tastes like strong coffee so the minute coffee taste in it is masked by whatever sugar, milk, or flavorings are added. I typically get the Early Grey latte (it's called a London Fog, not sure why they don't just label it as such) which is good only because Earl Grey has a strong bold flavor. They could put a little more sugar in it but aside from that, it is the best beverage they serve in my opinion. They have a Darjeeling Afternoon tea but it is barely sweetened. Being that those notes are much lighter, more sweetener should be added. All that aside, I would probably frequent this place more if the staff was friendly. I won't pay for a sub-par drink accompanied by lack luster customer service. The staff rarely greet you, only ring you up, ask about a receipt, and that's it. No smiles, no greeting, no closing statement like, "have a good day." Nothing. Poor customer service in my opinion. Be friendly, be helpful in assisting no coffee drinkers with ideas, offer recommendations, or what's currently trending there. Customer service is so important to a business, they should improve upon theirs.
The way Starbucks should be. Trendy decor with a nice relaxed up-to-date atmosphere, friendly, competent staff, and the coffee...AMAZING! Anything you get here will be good. I recommend the PB Moka frozen latte. It's worth going a little out of the way for this coffee shoppe.

The only place East of Norfolk to get real, coffee-snob level coffee. It is in the student center for Regent but open to the public.
