Amazing knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent coffee, good vibes and great music. Tips built into prices so no need to panic at checkout.

Delicious Mocha. Coffee is delicious and made well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fairly talkative and chatty. The decorations all help the lab atmosphere. Dessert looked delicious will be trying another time. Good place for a coffee and doing some work.

Pour over coffee was fantastic. Very nice staff and comfortable environment.

Cute college coffee shop. The vibe was good. The cortado coffee was ok a bit too bitter. Loved the book selections

Couple of broken chairs probably should have been removed from the lobby so no one gets hurt. The food was swell, and thank God they don't up charge for no ice black coffee like all the other silly billies in this city.

Good coffee, good music and ambience, soured by an obnoxiously loud group of off the clock employees who were cussing and talking loudly at the bar. My fault I guess for expecting to do school work but it was hard when I could hear every word of their conversation, from the other side of the room. Two of the employees were speaking at an acceptable volume but the girl with black hair was consistently shouting.

I'm a little curious about all these Google reviews calling this coffee shop "standard", or calling the prices steep.
You have a barista who obviously cares about his craft, a good grinder, a great La Marzocco machine, locally or lovingly roasted coffee, and everything very well executed.. Reviewers really REALLY need to be more responsible in their reviews of places..
These aren't corporately run places trying to reach their every cravass of America. These are small businesses trying to expand the minds and share their love with locals.
This coffee shop is very simple. The cortado was beautiful and it was served alongside a splash of bubbly water. I didn't get a muffin or any other treat, but they looked decent.
When I was leaving I got a vanilla latte (8oz)and I'm very happy to say it was 100% perfectly sweet. I hate overly sweetened drinks. I'm not sure if they make the syrups there, but if they don't I couldn't tell.
Anyway, when I'm back in Richmond, I'll go back. It was anything but standard.

Great coffee, nice staff, decent little place.
I stopped here when I was passing through.
They do have outlets and you can certainly pull out the laptop and do that computer and coffee thing. You will have to crouch down and peek to see the outlet mounted up off the floor. Guess they wanted to be able to mop?
The WIFI is VCU wifi, I think it goes with the building similar to restrooms, not the cafe. Its a bit tedious to sign up for the wifi with an email but not the end of the world.
Also, this is a dorky call out, but why is the pastry in a little window below the counter?
I almost walked out thinking they only served coffee until I glanced down and caught that.
Kinda form before function.
Would go back for the solid coffee and nice people.
