Sure, there's a Starbucks on the opposite corner, but it's not going to be as satisfying as this place. On the second floor, you'll find yourself in a cozy cafe with not only some interesting coffee selections to choose from, but also books, board games, and many comfy seats to choose from.

This has been a great "first date" location as well :)

I have been going there for perhaps 15 years or so. I enjoyed displaying and selling my art there as well. The imported coffees are great as are the new additions (the teas, pastries), etc. I miss my old friends here as I no longer drive. My spiritual son, Ronnie T. is employed here now. Give him my love.

A lovely coffee shop.

I discovered Fairgrounds on an exploratory pass through Ghent, and I ended up lunching there the next day - to much success. Occupying the upper story of a historic-feeling old house (complete with creaky wooden stairs), the place had a nice, homey vibe that was textured by some tasteful classic rock on the stereo, with the soulful decoration to match. The cashier was friendly enough, and fast with my order (curiously cheap cold-brew coffee), and with that, I proceeded to have myself a fine little lunch, peering down at the rainy street in between bites - excellent! I have to stop by here again, someday.

Much thanks to everyone at Fairgrounds Coffee, for providing the scene of my memorable Norfolk luncheon. Keep up the good work :D

Fair grounds have pretty good medium roast coffee. The roast isn’t burnt, and coffee has decent flavor. The interior is cute and is a nice place to read and work, but the wifi was unstable the last time I was there.

Coffee was ok. Lemonade was very fresh and yummy!
Worst part of the experience was being asked to leave while not “actively sipping “ while 2 other people in the shop didn’t have drinks and where just hanging out.

The staff was kind. They have a large variety of coffee and tea. The Green Tea was excellent. I didn't eat anything. You have to climb stairs to order, so please be aware of that.

Great coffee, cute place, and all around nice place to just kick back and relax.

Great drinks- both hot and cold. Good food. Only wish is that they had more seating! Other than that, love this place! Good for a quick stop, to sit down, or if you have a meeting and need someplace quiet.

To be honest, I'm a Starbucks regular. I still find this place really great. They have nice flavored coffee based drinks you can have hot or cold. They DO take card, contrary to what a previous reviewer said. They also have a really nice homey feel too the place. I'm probably going to be a regular.

I'm from out of town and was in need of good coffee while I waited for my mother-in-law to be finished with her dr apt, found them using Google maps and am extremely glad I did! Wonderful friendly service, great atmosphere, and my French toast latte is delicious. I will definitely be visiting every time I'm in town for now on!!!!
