What a great addition to Elkton!
Stopped in this morning with a larger order and they handled it with a smile.
Great group of employees and a clean restaurant. I'll definitely stop in on a regular basis.

Do yourself a favor and stop by and get one of their amazing Chicken sandwichs! I've tried almost every sandwich they offer, and they all are very good, but the chicken sandwich is one of the best ones I've ever had!
The staff is always helpful and nice, creating a very warm, and inviting environment.
Also be on the lookout for holiday bagels, for Valentines Day they have a heart shaped strawberry bagel.

This is a hidden treasure. The food is delicious. Coffee is fresh. Service is welcoming. In fact, this was recommended by a former JMU graduate. Best!

Great bagels. Only thing I would say is they should ask if you want it toasted when you order because I think the vast majority of people do since I’ve forgotten to ask a couple times. But they were always nice and just gave me the cold one and made another toasted one.

I’m so sad this new location isn’t good. We’ve been buying J’s bagels off Burgess for over a decade and they’re consistent and good quality. Tried Express for the first time today and it was awful. Bad service (missing items, all staff standing in the office when customers were waiting) and bad quality product (scallion cream cheese had literally (i counted) 3 tiny little pieces of scallion on the whole bagel, a dozen hot bagels were stuffed into a plastic bag and sealed so they lost shape and got soggy, everything bagels had nearly zero garlic or onion (just sesame and poppy seeds) , the bagels lacked flavor and color and didn’t have that great chew associated with J’s bagels. Hopefully this was just a bad day and not their standard. I’ll be sticking to the ones in Harrisonburg.

Mr. J’s Express is advertised heavily at the Elkton Brewery with descriptive tent cards on the tables full of pictures of delicious looking food. We ordered our food for delivery while at the brewery, paid for it and were given a delivery time. We waited and waited for our food and when I finally got through on the phone to them they said “we don’t deliver sandwiches to the brewery, only bar food, like pretzels.” Such false advertising. After I complained bitterly, I was offered a refund or delivery of our food.

I come here often. The bagels are ok. Asked for toasted if you want it that why. I love the coffee, they actually make it better than the OG Blue Elk. Clean and everyone is super nice.
Nice view of the mountains while you sit and enjoy.

Usually pretty quick and friendly but I think they may have brought some of the slow folks from the 33 location in because it took 20 minutes to get two bagels, one with cream cheese and one with butter. Killed most of my lunch break just waiting on the bagels.

Food was good but the girls working aren’t careful with their hair around food and with their gloves. They would touch their face, hair, screens, ect. and then continue making sandwiches. They all seemed very young so I’m sure it’s their first job but definitely need to be aware that people can see them.

Service was terrible, waited 15 minutes for 6 begals store was not busy, girl behind the register kept taking orders and forgot to get mine. And then couldn't get the order right. If you have a simple order to get don't move away from the register make them get to you first.
