Awesome find in the Clarendon area. The staff is extremely friendly and he cooks work well with food allergies/intolerances. Offer almond milk alternative and able to modify most of their food to suit a milk intolerance. Sells fresh arepa if you ask and they are perfectly cooked with a nice golden brown crisp. We even ordered some to go. My husband had the Elvis sandwich (pbj and banana) and he practically licked his plate. Will definitely be returning. Went during the morning (@ 11 AM) and it was quiet.

Best Latte and Almond pastry I’ve had in a long time!

Very close to gmu library... The service is good, and the guy at the counter seemed to know his stuff, so I'd feel comfortable asking for recommendations from whoever is working the machines. I only got a regular coffee and it was incredible... Made me want to look up vigilante coffee (the brand they use).

Great coffee, great staff. The only problem is finding it (it looks like a hole in the wall from the street).
If I lived nearby, this would be my home away from home. It's also surrounded by auto repair shops and it's a great place to wait for your car (which is what I'm doing).

Nice decor/atmosphere...except for the volume of the music. I was the only customer in the shop and they were BLASTING the music. I don't recommend going here if you're trying to get any work/studying done. The barista was nice, but the latte I had was only OK. I prefer other shops in the area (Northside, Republik).

Great hidden coffee house between Claredon and Ballston. My wife and I are always looking for a good coffee house with a nice decor and atmosphere, and Detour Coffee certainly fits the bill. Roomy space and pleasant staff. When the barista forgot to bring our drinks after some time and I went to remind him, he threw in bake goods as an apology (I was not even bothered since we were not in a rush and I had waited awhile before checking with them about the order). Classy move and good business since we will now be coming back.

Wow, I would have totally missed this place if I hadn't found it on Google Maps. It is almost invisible under the Darna lounge. Once I got in there was a nice crowd, and I got a nice coffee with good service. Very nice ambiance as well. I look forward to going back for a breakfast with friends.

The Place is beautifl AND great food (from my 9-yo daughter). The service is nice and fast. Great vibes

The pastry cheff does a phenomenal job! The bacon biscuit was amazing! My little one enjoyed the croissant filled with dulce de leche. I liked the variety of coffee offered too. Very Nice customer service.

Service and kitchen were extremely slow, I tried the U Street and was very disappointed. The chicken was all breading and again took far to long to prepare a to go order. Atmosphere is nice but the coffee was so so.
