Solid coffee shop right next to my office. Has a tasty & filling Bourbon Builder shake which makes a great breakfast. A bit crowded inside most days, but it's because they have a huge pillar right in the middle of their space. Friendly service and reasonable prices.
I was craving rich, creamy, lavender-flavored coffee, and this place has it. I ordered a lavender latte. It was balanced and complex. I could still savor the richness of the coffee while not missing the lavender notes. Asides from good coffee, the service is excellent.
Really cool host, warm and welcoming. Nice coffee, fresh. I worked one entire 9 to 5 here. It doesn’t get noisy, one can take meeting calls. Clean place.
The barista that helped me was super nice and got me my coffee super fast. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Definitely a coffee shop to go to if you’re in a rush.
Finally a cafe in Rosslyn that isn't a nationwide chain! This charming cafe has a distinctly East African vibe, which is appropriate because their coffee is from Rwanda. I got an iced American, and loved the bright, acidic, and spicy notes that East African coffee is known for. Bourbon Coffee is privately owned, and is one of several in the DC area. They source their delicious beans through direct trade with Rwandan coffee farmers and cooperatives. According to their website, cutting out the middleman in this way means they can pay the farmers 25% more than even Fair Trade would pay them. They're a lovely addition to Rosslyn, and I hope they're here to stay for a long time.
