Asked for a personalized drink and it turned out amazing. I got an iced latte with chocolate syrup, Irish cream and caramel. I was able to substitute oat milk in for the whole milk which was delicious! The chocolate used was high quality and the cocoa flavor was well balanced and came through. The flavors of the espresso were also great.
I’ve also gotten espressos which come in a cute little cup when you order them to stay. ❤️
Ate at the attached restaurant (Tamarisk, also 5 stars) and checked out Swell after… their cinnamon rolls are the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever eaten. Friendly service and a delightful experience. 100/10 road trip stop for a nice coffee shop.
Maybe it's because I was the first customer of the day and it was the first cup of coffee of the day, maybe it's because they use only that disgusting Ghirardelli chocolate, with NO other options for customer satisfaction purposes, but this coffee is gross. One sip and I tossed in the trash. It's that gross.
I did not and I will not go in and ask them to correct it because I don't think that they can and I don't think that they would based upon the way that I was treated by the barista.
They move like city folk, walking and talking without even looking at me; I'm hearing impaired, so I heard absolutely nothing that was spoken to me and when I asked if we were done to ensure I didn't leave prematurely, I was treated like a child who doesn't understand commerce.
I've resigned myself to the fact there is no good coffee in the State of Utah which actually should not surprise me considering it's a Mormon State who doesn't even like caffeine. Why bother serving and selling coffee, especially Espresso? Just to make some tourism money? What waste of money and the ruination of an otherwise great morning.
As a person who does reviews, I chose to give it a chance, knowing they use Ghirardelli and had no other options available for customer satisfaction purposes, because twice in my ENTIRE lifetime I've received an ok halfway decent coffee made with Ghirardelli's Chocolate and since I have 10hrs driving ahead of me, I thought the coffee was a prudent choice. Not THIS coffee though.
Pray tell, WHY do you intentionally choose to use an unsweet bitter chocolate with a bitter coffee? Bitter places perhaps?
There's a reason Hershey syrup is sweetened and makes a perfect cup of Espresso. It cuts the bitterness down....and WHOLE milk is less watery and creates a nicer consistency. 2% milk in an espresso is like adding water to Tequila...it just doesn't work out well for the consumer.
At least provide some options for customer satisfaction if you want to capture that tourism money in a "Don't drink coffee it's a sin" state.
Finally! A decent coffee shop here in greenriver.😍 I will probably end up giving 5 stars after I been there a few times and know if they make a consistently good cup of coffee or if I got an awesome barista. Service was prompt and knowledgeable. Prices were fair. Looks like they have a pretty good menu. I will be returning and will reccomend to all my guests. Note this is inside the tamarisk restaurant - if you have time their food is great too!
