Alpha Coffee at Big Cottonwood has amazing coffee and food, but it’s more than that. You will be served by a uniquely joyful group of people. Chloe and the crew make amazing latte art, and I have a large collection of photos of their latte artwork now. I try to come here every morning, and on days where I have to get my coffee somewhere else I truly miss it. If you begin your day at Alpha Coffee you are guaranteed a great day.

Been coming to Alpha Coffee since it opened. It’s so nice having a local coffee shop in the neighborhood. It’s great running into your neighbors each and every time.
Carl and Lori run a great shop, and their staff is amazing. My usual, Dawn Patrol with cream, is always consistently tasty and hot.

Good coffee here, I like their mixed drinks better than their coffee itself. The poly taste like a almond joy without the chocolate, the honey badger is yummy and a bit sweeter. Overall this is a popular and yummy place, so there will be a wait. The prices are fair.

Coffee taste is personal, but they definitely get my vote. Love their mocha! I know I'm gonna sound like a commercial, but great deep coffee flavors, mixed with chocolate taste, without being just sweet. Awesome!
Plus the staff is very friendly and efficient.

So nice to find an excellent coffee house walking distance from my hotel! My hot latte was spot on. Their scones, quiches and croissants looked enticing though I didn’t have one.
The location was perfect with lots of glass giving amazing views of the snow covered mountains everywhere and the music was chill. I will be back.

Stayed nearby for a week while enjoying all the powder in the Canyons. Visited here because of the reputation and was not disappointed. They roast their own beans and have both blends and single-origins available. The coffee is good. The espresso drinks are done well. They had a lot of young blood working behind the counter so I was dubious, but every espresso drink I had benefited from a well-pulled shot; flavorful and unburnt, and the drinks balanced well. I really enjoyed the standard mocha. Everything was clean and there was more space than I expected; there were some big windows through which to enjoy a view of the Wasatch mountains. It can get busy and parking can be tight, but it's a worthy stop.

Out of all the coffee shops I’ve tried in utah, alpha coffee has the best americano yet. The espresso is not sour or bitter, just a lovely warm roast that pairs great with any milk (I get oat). Not only the coffee, the views are just as beautiful.

My favorite coffee shop around. I come here pretty often to do work or to catch up with friends and it works for all occasions. Staff is friendly and relatively quick. Today I waited in a decent (but totally reasonable) line for my drink and was pleasantly surprised as one of the gentlemen who works there asked if anybody in line needed something while we waited. Coffee and food is always really good, I think I’ve only been here once where my order was a little off, but it was quickly resolved!

Great place to stop after spending the morning trail running in the mountains.
The drinks for this visit were The Viking and the Honey Badger.
The Viking is an espresso-based drink with breve, butter, honey, and sea salt. It was a full-bodied drink - slightly rich (not too rich) with a strong espresso flavor. I ordered it because it sounded unique. It impressed me.
The Honey Badger is an espresso-based drink with honey, cinnamon, and maybe another ingredient or two. Check the menu to verify 😀. I had a couple sips of it from my partner. It was quite good. On the sweeter side compared to The Viking. A good choice depending on what you're in the mood for.
Lastly, I ordered a pepperoni and provolone demi baguette. No photo this time, but it was delicious.
Also, the view from the seating area looks straight up Big Cottonwood Canyon. What's not to like?

There is nothing better than a sausage egg breakfast burrito from Alpha Coffee. I like it after partaking in outdoor activities in the nearby canyons. It’s easy to get to, order something good, and get out with the friendly staff.
