Coco Beach Club

Been here 3 times in the last 6 weeks. First visit, a beer at the bar and two Gyros to go. Took a while to get my order, but the Gyros were good. Second visit, a couple beers and a burger at the bar, Burger was a disappointment, thin frozen patty, pretty dry. Bartender provided good service. Today, wife and I each got a beer and ordered some nachos. After 20 minutes our beers were gone and still no nachos. Asked the bartender, she said they were working on them, should be right out. 10 minutes later, still no nachos. Only abou 8 people in the bar, and no other food orders that we could see. Told the bartender she could keep the nachos and we left. No apologies, no offer to refund our money. Won't be back for a fourth visit.

I want to give a 5 star rating just for Jackie. She was amazing, very hospitable, met our needs best she could. There was no electricity 1st day, Jackie made best of it for us. It was the week after a major cold snap there. Jackie invited us to a great place for entertainment the first evening. 3rd and 4th day no hot water. Cold showers suck. And, I could oversee 1 day no hot water. I really can not see a second day. The hotel is a bit run down, pictures do not represent well. But, they do keep it as clean as possible and no bugs, which is a huge plus. I will visit Jackie again when I visit, but, I will not stay without major improvements.

Coco Beach used to be Boomerang Billy's. It was much better before new owners took over. A little paint and updating does not support doubling the cost of food and drinks. Service is horrible! The wait is long when someone ahead of you orders a mixed drink. Bartenders are lacking in skill and customer service. Sure miss the ladies who served here formerly. They now charge $12-14 for 8 oz specialty drinks that taste like nothing more than fruit juice. Food menu used to be cheap and delicious. They've cut choices and increased prices. This local is NOT happy. I wanted to love it because it is literally across the street from me, but I rarely go there now because of the changes.

Update 10/26/21: Regarding the response from this business stating that the bartender works very hard to provide excellent customer service, I would suggest that you and I either have different ideas of that excellent customer service consists of or you have not visited your own establishment as much as I have. We have consistently witnessed the same thing each time; tables are dirty, trash cans are overflowing, bathrooms are dirty and out of tp and/or paper towels, bartender rarely even smiles, much less make customers feel welcome, she leaves folks standing at the bar without so much as recognizing they are waiting, she has zero hustle even when the line gets backed up and she cannot multitask. We visited with friends a few days ago and were only able to get 2 rounds of drinks in 2 hours because of slow service. My husband waited in line behind just 2 others for nearly 10 minutes just to get our check and cash out.

We sincerely want to give our business to your establishment, but it's hard to justify it when we can go just up the street to another beach bar where we are greeted immediately by friendly staff, bartenders take the time to learn our name and make small talk while making drinks, and taking our food order (which is much cheaper), the tables are bussed regularly, and the bathrooms are clean and well stocked.

I'm hoping you take this as a constructive review and make some necessary changes.

Excellent customer service. Alex the bartender is awesome and is the reason why I keep coming back and recommend to all my friends. Very friendly and a very good time conversing with her.

We only had some cold Beers..but I've heard the food is 👍

I would not stay here until the hotel is fully, completely, renovated under the new ownership. For the price that I paid for one night, I was expecting A LOT more. Our door would barely lock from the outside, water pressure was low and the shower head was old, not enough supplies in the room like basic toilet paper that we had to call for, one small trashcan in the restroom, we had to call again to watch tv programs on the TV while we rested, the bar closed at 9 on a Saturday, and the parking lot is SMALL. A lot of the cars there didn't even have a parking permit for the hotel so they were taking up space. We didn't wanna leave anywhere with the risk of losing our spot and having to walk who knows what distance back to the hotel. I will say that the hotel was clean and the beach access is close by, but thats about it.
