The JL Bar Ranch, Resort & Spa

We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. We rode horses, enjoyed the gorgeous pool, played pool and games and relaxed in the spacious room. The food was top notch, and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend for a few days. It is quite remote. We had a tesla and the charging station was an hour away so plan accordingly.

Went to JL Bar Ranch not knowing what to expect since we never took a family vacation like this. I was pleasantly surprised with what a gem we found. My kids had a blast trying new activities. The instructors were patient and encouraging making it a positive experience for them. As for myself I had some great massages. The food Was delicious. The rooms were nice with incredible views. And the staff always went above and beyond to make our family feel special. I was sad to leave but excited to come back.

AMAZING HOSPITALITY!!! Very Courteous, Inviting and Professional and we haven't even stayed here yet.

Let me explain:

My Son and I were driving from Ozona, Tx back to San Antonio when we hit an animal on the road. Our vehicle ended up sustaining some damage and we needed to pull over out in the middle of no where. It was 11pm, pitch black out and no one in sight. By the grace of God, a very sweet young lady (Kylie GM at the Ranch) drove up next to us and asked if we needed some help. She mentioned her ranch was just a couple of miles down the street and I was welcomed to see if we could fix our vehicle there or if need be they would make a room available for us to stay until we could get a tow truck out. We drove up to the Security gate and were greeted by a very helpful and knowledgeable young Man (James) who was able to help us fix our vehicle as he knew exactly what to do to get us back on the road. He offered to write us up a report so we could have supporting documentation for my insurance company. While we were waiting we were welcomed to use the bathroom, freshen up and given THE BEST BBQ we have ever tasted by their AMAZING CHEF on site (I apologize I forgot his name) While not given an official tour we were welcomed with open arms, explained what was available on the Ranch and well taken care of in our quick passing through. Once again, the level of professionalism, hospitality and warm Texas demeanor has certainly left a lasting impression that we will now make this our destination of choice for my Family and I in the future. This beautiful resort has the kindest staff I could ever imagine. We had a great trip with our kids ages 5&7. They were the only kids there, but there was plenty to keep them occupied. We did the horse psychology (I believe it was with John) and it was perfect for the kids who love horses. Tamra played pool with our kids while waiting for activities. The food, pool, and bikes, and UTV ride were tons of fun. Deana was so amazing and caring, and Robbie made us feel welcome from start to finish. The bartender made mojitos with freshly picked mint. The food was incredible. During our visit, there were multiple different groups of people - guys trips, ladies spa trips, couples getaways, and family trips. The variety of activities made this perfect for all of these groups.

The best place I have ever stayed period. Flying into the airfield and being picked up in a large suv and then given a tour of the ranch was the perfect way to start this stay. Being in the vacation rental business I expect certain things from customer service and JL Bar exceeding my standards. I literally cant say one thing wrong, it’s the opposite, they went above and beyond with everything. All the staff is amazing. The food and drinks wow! I’m a foodie and whoever is cooking is better than some of the biggest restaurant names out there. They have a real weight room, not a hotel gym, power rack to squat, bench and deadlift. By plane its less than 4 hours from Destin FL and I will be going back multiple times a year!

My husband and I had a fantastic long weekend at the resort. He went on an axis deer hunt while I spent time relaxing and taking advantage of their other activities/amenities. The staff went over the top to be helpful and the food was wonderful.

My wife and I had our wedding at JL Bar Ranch & Resort the weekend of 11/30 - 12/2. After our original wedding venue burned down and after touring numerous ranches/sites throughout the state, we felt JL was the right spot for us. They went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect. The entire staff was eager to serve and proved to be one of the most accommodating groups of people that I've encountered. Lana, their event manager, did an outstanding job. With all of the stresses that come with a wedding, Lana's ability to handle whatever came her way left me beyond impressed. I've actually got to include the entire staff with my previous statement. Our wedding experience was unforgettably amazing and because of that, JL Bar Ranch & Resort easily gets 5 stars from us. We will be back again!

This little Texas gem is a must visit. It is worth the drive from every angle of Texas to get to the sweet serenity that is JL Bar Ranch. Every detail is thought out, each staff member is kind and exudes southern hospitality. We had an amazing time and will be back! This place is heaven.

The people were universally professional, highly engaged and committed to a fantastic experience and they delivered. The facilities and food exceeded expectations and we are looking forward to returning. 3 hours from Austin, but we could see why people would fly in from long distances - just an incredible and unmatched experience.

I found JL Bar on a review of places to go on a honeymoon and was excited. My first, second, and third attempts to call them went unanswered. Eventually my fiancee got in touch with them and we were able to ask a few questions before booking online. I received an email about the activities you can sign up for, replied, and never received a response. A few weeks later I sent another email and got a curt reply. After a while we just decided to cancel but cue another week of attempting to contact the property without a response (voicemails and emails unanswered). All in all it seems like a great property but for the price they charge, I would desire better customer service. I can't speak for their in person performance (and hopefully assume we had a negative experience online), but I can say that their lack of customer service means we will never visit.
