Black Sugar Caffé

Good coffee, but they will happily hand you a leaking cup. We were daily visitors. Every so often, we'd get a cup that leaks a good bit - not totally unusual.

However, it's gotten to the point that maybe every third or fourth visit, my cupholders become little coffee ponds by the time I get home (and we only live 5 minutes away).

A small leak every once in a while happens with every coffee shop. That, I get. But the cups they use at Black Sugar are absolute garbage in a multitude of ways...

WHEN FULL... the cups will leak at the seam of the lid since the seal isn't that great.

AT ALL TIMES... the cups may leak along the seam of the cup; it seems the glue isn't very great and will lead the cups to partially open in places. This is by far the biggest source of leaks for us.

It pains me to advise against going here since the coffee is actually really good and the people are very friendly. I just can't stand having to mop out coffee from my car all the time... I've had enough.

The owners of this business are so untruthful. People continually call out the fact that y'all serve frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches, and YOU DO! Just own it, sure you bake some stuff there, but it is not some world class bakery. They buy prepared doughs, or just mix w water type boxed mixes from food service vendors and mark it up like crazy. Go to 309, blue moon or even Starbucks for better.

Pretty bad coffee overall, I'm not gonna say it was the WORST because that would mean they achieved something. The atmosphere looked like if a rejected art student committed suicide. After looking at the menu I could tell this was a place where they make the really fun sugary coffees but I just wanted a cappuccino. After drinking I noticed it was pretty watery and overall pretty bad. I can see this is a chill/study spot for university students and for them I'm truly sorry. I wouldn't recommend Starbucks either because they burn their beans. God speed

I didn't see any quality when I walked into the place, have you tried merit they are much better thanks but no thanks. I appreciate how confident you seem in your reply at least you are sure about one thing and it's not coffee.

The first time I visit a coffee shop I always order a vanilla latte. Not one of my favorites, tasted a little burnt, watered down and not very sweet. On the other hand my daughter ordered the green tea frappe and it was quite pleasant to the tastebuds.

DO NOT BUY FOOD HERE!

I spent almost $30,
only to receive Jimmy Dean products.

You can buy the same JD breakfast biscuits/english muffins from HEB @ $7 for a 4 pack.

Hot creme brûlée latte. 16 oz $4.95. The coffee was way too sweet, and sort of reminded me of a flavor you would get out of a machine at the gas station, except for triple the price. Waited 15+ minutes in the drive thru after I placed order. They have you sign a paper receipt at the window which doesn’t seem very efficient. The lids are also not the greatest they push in on themselves so you have to remove the top to push it back out otherwise you cannot drink from the cup.

Good coffee and staff is always friendly but service is super slow, more so in the drive thru. Not sure if it’s staffing issue. I hope they get it resolved soon or I will have to go elsewhere. :(

Coffee is amazing, food not so much. I wish they would accept constructive criticism about the breakfast food rather than respond with how great it is.

Love this place. Friendly staff, tasty food, and (of course) delicious coffee.

Highly recommended.

Loved the vibe here. Thoroughly enjoyed the Iced Americano and Nutella croissant. They were was so delicious.
