Midway Cafe

They have all you can eat catfish and it’s really good. They also have really great Taco Nachos. The seating is pretty rudimentary, but comfortable and plentiful. The service was great. Attentive without being over bearing. This isn’t a high end place where you’ve gotta wear your Sunday best, so come casual and enjoy the fare. Very pleasant and the prices are good.

Food was ok, but like another review said, check your prices/ total.

We were charged $1 per water because we had 1 small slice of lemon in it. Plus, they charged our toddler $1 for his water because all they had was a to go cup. (FYI-They charge $1 for water with lemon and water in to go cups.)

The waitress was nice but could've informed us of these charges when we were ordering since it was no where on their menu.

They refused to take the $3 off, even though we spent $40 on dinner and then left a $7 tip.

We're not going back. We've never been to a restaurant where they nickel and dime you for water with lemon.

Charged way more than the price stated on the menu! Why have a build your own breakfast option of you aren't allowed to use it. Plus I saw the guy in the kitchen taking our biscuits out of the microwave after being in the lobby with no gloves on! Disgusting!

Stopped here on a day trip to Gilmer. One of the best chicken fried steaks I have ever had. Great homemade cooking. I recommend

We've been here five or six times in the last year. Our order is never right and the price is never correct. I asked for a to-go cup for my drink because I didn't finish it all and the guy did not even tell me it would be extra ahead of time and he charged me 1.25 for the cup. Went for breakfast with my mom one time and gave them my card and didn't check the receipt until a few days later. Realized I paid for someone else's meal and they charged me over $40 when all we ordered was a couple eggs in a couple pancakes and some coffee. Always check your bill! I don't like the way that they do not give you your total until they type it in the register so there's no way to even look at anything. I called back a few days later and asked about the ticket but I had no way of proving it wasn't mine and they said the owner wasn't there. Few months went by and it was the only place open so we went ahead and went back. Got a chicken tender salad and the chicken was burnt so I picked it out and ate the salad. Got grilled chicken salad the next time and hard-boiled eggs were a weird gray color on the inside. I wish we had more options because I have never left there satisfied but yet I just keep giving them more and more chances. I like to support small businesses but I've given up on this one.

Went for a late breakfast and it was so good. The biscuit best I've had out, and the one thing I don't eat at other places without super doctoring it is the has browns. Not there I ate them plan and they were good.
