Don't know where to start. I ordered an Americano, which was $2 MORE ($3.95) than the online menu pic I saw, but I've made myself a better coffee at Stripes. Tasted almost as good as McDonalds coffee. Which is fair at best. Everything else on the menu was at least $1 more than the menu pics here so plan for deeper pockets!

My brother and I visited on a Saturday morning, grabbed two pastries and two coffees. Both coffees were an espresso based drink, one iced latte and one iced americano. I'm not an expert in any way in coffee, just a regular guy, making coffee at home. No experience in tasting, or making. But I can tell the difference between light vs dark, Ethiopian vs Columbian, etc.

Coffee:
The espresso was a lighter roast than the usual variety you find at Starbucks or some other shops. I don't know if this is the usual beans they use, but the coffee had some sour notes up front with a darker notes at the end.
I wanted lactose free milk, but they didn't have that option. They had the usual soy, whole, skim, oat, and etc. Lactose free is cow milk, except the lactose has been taken out. Not a big deal since my lactose intolerance isn't too severe, I ended up getting the whole milk with my latte. Since the roast is light for the espresso, the sour notes still come through in the latte. Not my favorite for a latte, but favorite for many others out there.

Pastries:
We tried two pastries: Apple and Cream Cheese pie, and Chocolate Mayan. The puff pastry is flaky and buttery on the pie, and the chocolate Mayan was a delightfully dense bread/roll with layers of chocolate. I only had a bite, so I couldn't quite tell if the chocolate was Nutella or a something of their own creation. Perfect combination with a cup of coffee, but likely better paired with a non-sweet coffee.

Final Verdict: I would bring my own coffee since the beans weren't exactly to my liking, but that's not a negative in any way. Coffee can be very personal. The two pastries we tried were very good, and we would love to come back and grab some occasionally.

Most underrated coffee shop in the area. Everyone loves to talk about other places but Gabriella keeps up with all the best of them while keeping a humble vibe. I dig the Royal Mayan Mocha, and their pastries are delicious too. 10/10 highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough of this coffee shop! The coffee is by far the best in town, and the pastries are absolutely delicious. And on top of that, the baristas are the bomb! They are all so friendly and create a warm, welcoming environment. I will always recommend this place!

This place is so good, their coffee is excellent. They baked goods are legit Guatemalan pastries and are very tasty. Plus there's no wifi so you don't get students camping out here for hours, so you can actually sit down and enjoy a good cup of coffee.

This little jewel of a Coffeeshop/Bakery is my favorite place like this in the Bryan/College Station area. I have been going here for awhile and plan on sitting at one the tables out front with an iced coffee soon. I love their scones and they other artsy things inside.
I feel comfortable inside because they have taken covid19 precautions. The staff is very polite and did I mention they make the best scones? Lol Today I bought 3 blueberry scones and a beautiful multi color humming bird to hand from mirror in my car. If you have never been here, please check them out. This is independent buisness and we should support them in anyway we can. Peace, TonyK

Excellent service, the pastries are delicious, the coffee is fantastic, and they have many different options, non of which are overly sweet. They actually focus on coffee, instead of just putting liquid sugar in a cup. Great place to go on a breakfast date. There is limited seating, but you can just sit outside or take it to-go

Terrible ownership. The owner is a very rude man. We were so excited to have some sweet Mayan break for thanksgiving and my friend has been waiting to have all of us try them. When a mistake by an employee happened the owner berated my friend instead of apologizing and trying to correct the mistake. We are very disappoint and will not be returning. Shame on you.

My go to coffee shop amazing coffee and better baked goods. Bread is soft and sweet but not over the top. My go to is their cinnamon rolls. Inside is extremely different (Nerdy with a Guatemalan twist) it's a nice change of pace from other coffee shops.

A wonderful eclectic treasure of a pastry shop. A very relaxing atmosphere, very cozy with personal decorative touches that reflect the owners. I've never had a pastry or bread that I didn't like. Any menu choice is a safe bet.
