Cute coffee shop with a phenomenal non-traditional atmosphere. The coffee itself tastes classic and traditional, but is well priced and the barista’s can modify it however you request (I had an Iced Caramel Latte). They have two little seating areas that are more like small studio shops, as well as a little gift shop area. The outdoor patio is a nice place to get a view of the dock as well. I would definitely come here to vibe when it’s busy, and study when it’s quiet. Would recommend as a good place to get coffee in the morning and get some work done, or bring friends and hangout in the outdoor area.

great local coffee shop. cool vibe. super friendly staff. large outside area with music on weekends etc. inside is not huge so not great in bad weather. food choices limited but better than many places (empanadas and tamales from local sources). overall a great vibe. i’ll be back to one of my new favorite places.

I cannot get enough of this place. Soulfreak is my home away from home. If I want to work from home in a coffee shop, I'm here. If I want to relax and unwind by reading a book, I'm here. If I want to listen to live music OR spend time with friends, I'm here.
Soulfreak has the most friendly baristas, is women-owned, and is just full of so much quality.
If you're in Kemah/Clear Lake Shores, or nearby, you gotta give this place a visit!
4/28 Update: Right when you think this place couldn't get better, they added Wednesday Art classes and OMG, they're so fun! Love the instructor and the class format. Definitely recommend going in there and giving it a try!
The coffee drinks menu also has been changing a little per the season and the Taylor Menu is AMAZING. Definitely pop in and try their tasty creations! (:
5/26 Update: Still my favorite place of all time. <3

Went out of our way to try this unique coffee shop because of a sticker we saw on someone’s reusable water bottle! We were not disappointed!
It sits just off of Clear Lake, giving a hint of “small local beach town” with the water view, outdoor spacious seating, and palm trees.
Inside is a myriad of gifts - not the typical things you see at big box department stores. I actually wanted to spend a few minutes taking in all the unique and quirky items.
I ordered an iced coffee. I asked for an unsweetened Almond milk latte. They DO normally carry unsweetened almond milk but were out that day. My boyfriend ordered a dirty chai latte. Both drinks were great!
Staff was young (which can sometimes equate to less than par service) but both were attentive and friendly.
We will definitely return to this jewel of a coffee shop!

Been here 6 times now so it is good enough to come back. Coffee is good. Service is at the counter and seems awkward each time we have come here. Avoid the pastries at all costs! Have tried them a few times, we give up on those. Last time it was worst scones ever. Fun atmosphere where you can draw on the tables and play games, outdoors is nice too.

We absolutely love Soul Freak! The coffee is delicious. I usually get iced coffee with oat milk and brown sugar and it never disappoints. The whole family loves the empanadas ( especially the spinach ones) and the black bean tamales are fantastic. The atmosphere is great and cozy! We go at least once a week!!

Great place to grab coffee and a treat. They always have unique drinks to try. They also always have bakery items that are gluten and dairy free and that makes my wife happy, so I’m happy.

Tried this place on our first visit to the area in a few years. Counter is over staffed with undertrained employees. Owner (?) was obviously frustrated with the traffic flowing in from the event next door and not handling it well. We got a coffee and a tea, both were mediocre. Especially for what we paid. My wife initially wanted to try their gluten free scones, but they’re kept with the other baked goods so that was disappointing.
What’s especially frustrating about places like Soulfreak is their insistence on selling you an “atmosphere.” It looks great, but felt pretentious and lacked charm.

Out for a bike ride this morning.. Nice place in my daughter's neighborhood. Yummy Iced Carmel Machioto, fun three piece band...always seems to be a festive vibe...and no masks today! Thanks Gov. Abbott. 😎 Also, very clean restrooms with actual hot water in which to wash hands.

Looooove this place. It's very unique location. Coffee was amazing and pastries too. It has a lot of natural products, handmade items, and cool trinkets for purchase. It's overall a place you definitely need to check out. Can't wait to be back and see what new items they have in stock.
