Teal House is the best coffee not only in Austin, but anywhere I've traveled in the U. S. This summer we traveled out west, up north, and Colorado. I tried the best rated coffee shops in each town I stopped. Teal House sets such a high standard for quality ingredients and expertise at the craft that the flavor is unbeatable. Friendly service, too!

I recently discovered Teal House Coffee and Bakery and I can't sing its praises highly enough. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, but so are the kolaches, croissants, and coffee. My favorite are the Queen Noelle croissants - seriously, they are eye-rolling good. Everything is made to order, so when you order, say, a cinnamon roll, it's baked fresh right then - how amazing is that? I look forward to enjoying this locally owned, family business for years to come.

Updated review:

I am adjusting my review as I was contacted by the owner who explained some of the possibilities associated with the cinnamon rolls. I find it very refreshing that anybody would take the time to reach out to a customer regarding any discrepancies that they might've had during their visit. I give this business owner a lot of credit and would like to add a star based on his demeanor and appreciation for his customers. I wish this business nothing but the best and hope it succeeds so I may visit again the next time I am in town.

Original Review:

While visiting family, we decided to grab some coffee at a local place. The place is supposed to be known for their cinnamon rolls.

We tried an ice latte, chai tea and an espresso with of course a cinnamon roll. I failed to take pictures as we were too busy talking and catching up. I was a bit disappointed by the size of the cinnamon roll. It was about the size of a Pillsberry cinnamon roll except square in shape. The texture was a little bit gooey and slightly under done, which might be the way some people like it. I would prefer a slightly fuller roll with more cinnamon than it had. It did get eaten, no worries there.

The coffees were good but nothing to write home about. The overall price for all the items I think came out to be around $20, which is actually a pretty decent price considering the location.

The male employee who took our order was friendly, but clearly more interested in talking to the young ladies in line. I can’t hold that against him too much but when it comes to service, people don’t want to feel any less important than the next person.

Overall I would probably visit this place again but forgo the cinnamon roll.

I googled, “good cinnamon rolls near me” and Teal House was the 1st listed. I ordered a pumpkin spiced latte, and the cinnamon roll.
Both were great!

I rarely leave reviews, but I HAD to bring attention to this place because I need it to exist forever! These are hands down the best kolaches in town. Jalapeño sausage cheese kolaches have been one of my top pregnancy cravings, so I have probably spent over $1000 on kolaches in the last 8 months and tried MANY places all over Texas honestly, and Teal House has THE best! The ratio of bread to filling is on point, the bread is dense yet soft and fluffy at the same time, the sausage is flavorful and has the perfect amount of snap (not mushy like a hot dog and not with a lot of pull to the casing like a smoked sausage). My two year old will eat a whole brisket kolache himself and ask for more. I have also recently enjoyed the chicken hatch sausage kolache. Please go here to make sure this small business exists, expands, and makes us all amazing kolaches forever!!!

Decent spot, but nothing too special. Spacious and provide room for people to chill and work.

I was visiting from out of town and wanted to try a local coffee spot. Their pictures looked delicious and I was excited to try but when I went they were out of kolaches and crossaints. I just got a flavored latte but it tasted like iced milk. Pretty disappointed. 2 stars instead of 1 cause the staff was nice and the place seemed chill.

Hands down the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had!! Teal House has become a weekly must for my family with their variety coffee and pastry options. The people working there are very personable and the service is great!

No words for how amazing the food is! If you’ve heard about this place, it’s likely because if the cinnamon rolls. Which those are among the best I’ve ever had. But the kolaches and croissant breakfast sandwich are equally as amazing. Chef Lance is doing some amazing stuff at this bakery. If you’re in the mood for pastries, kolaches and/or a breakfast sandwich, this is IT!

Was excited to go, after my boss brought their delicious kolaches to the office. Couldn’t wait to bring my fiancé.

My fiance and I ordered our drinks (they did not get mine right, it was a matcha with basically just milk in it when I asked for extra scoops of matcha), and our 3 kolaches. After waiting 20 minutes for the kolaches, a person from the kitchen said the dough was still proving, and still needed to rise, and that it’d be another 13 minutes. We begrudgingly decided to wait. It ended up being another 20 minutes, and by that time, our way-too-milky drinks were already finished. I know they are understaffed, but this colossal wait time meant that we couldn’t do anything else that morning, since we waited for so long.
Something that could’ve made it better was to include something extra into our order. When I worked in the restaurant industry, if someone’s order took way too long, especially due to our failure to communicate with each other, I would comp the order or include a dessert for free, as an apology. We got only our kolaches, which I can honestly say did not taste as good as I remember, after waiting 40 minutes. Probably won’t come back.
