Monks Coffee Shop

I usually go to big country when I’m in Abilene, but they were closed for New Year’s Day and I’m so glad!! My boyfriend and I stopped in and the barista was so friendly and extremely inviting. He made sure that we both enjoyed our drinks and I bought some espresso to take home that was 👌🏽 💯 🤤
Hands down best small business experience I’ve encountered in Abilene to date.

Two stars because the coffee I got was good, but the wait and service wasn’t. I was excited to try a different environment but walked in and stood at the counter with no acknowledgement by anyone and then when they were ready to take my order, just looked at me 😅 waited a while for one iced drink as well. Kids running all over so not a good place to relax. If I go back it’s because the coffee was good but I’ll be trying others for now.

I was disappointed by the bottomless coffee - I only had a cup & a half, then the coffee ran out. Also they were out of sugar. But the coffee was delicious even without sugar, so I can't be too mad.

Best joint in Abilene to grab a latte. Staff knows their stuff and honors the craft. Pickup and run or stick around and soak up the ambiance, but definitely stop in!

It's really rare that I go into a business and feel the care that has been put into the business, but also the community. Art on the walls is provided by local artists and they host an open mic night where musicians can play music they want. It feels comfortable and welcoming with eclectic decor featuring a variety of couches and puffy chairs. The coffee is high quality, not very expensive and made to order. It was a nice find in a downtown area that feels neglected.

Amazing find! Great coffee, sweet people, good vibes all around. Nice place to meet with others or study solo. In a cool lil downtown area with plenty of parking.
