Eclectic coffee shop and board game spot.

Great espresso, quiet (reviewing during COVID), and quick. Surprisingly good lox and salmon. Nom powered doors but otherwise lots of maneuvering space for wheelchair or stroller. Has whole beans for purchase once you've realized how good their espresso is.

First time customers...Cute, quirky neighborhood coffee house, serving breakfast and lunch. Service was friendly. We had the Fishy Bomb and the Egg Bomb w/crispy bacon. Both sandwiches were very good. There are other menu items on the lighter side like oatmeal or just a bagel with cream cheese, to name a few, all for a good price. We didn't have any coffee (I know, I know) but it smelled really good. Bathrooms clean with interesting wall decor.

The best espresso in East Nashville. Fruity, chocolate flavors come through even in milk drinks, while on its own it’s balanced and not too acidic.

Great coffee (also, good selection of beer) and the opportunities to learn new board games was so much fun. I tell my friends about it all the time in hopes to go and relax while playing a new and interesting board game.

Way expensive for OK coffee, just short of $5 for thier smallest mocha. Food, while creative and tasty, is often very slow to come out. The staff is super friendly but I think it'll be a while before I go back.

If you want to wait 30 mins for a coffee thats the size of a macchiato yet priced as a 16oz latte literally anywhere else in Nashville, then come on down to Bongo Java East! This is the spot for you!!! Super stoked I unknowingly dropped 8 bucks with a 20% tip for a shot of espresso. SMH

Excellent place to get a coffee, a meal and play a game or two.

Coffee, bagels, board games. What's not to like?
They run excellent seasonal specials on coffee drinks, along with your standard espresso latte and cappuccino offerings. Service on these has always been very quick for me so this is a good spot to grab and go if you are in a hurry. If you are not feeling that they also offer some kamboucha chai tea and green or black teas. If you are here for the varied selection of board games you may also prefer one of the rotating beers on tap.
Speaking of board games they offer a curated shelf of classics like Monopoly, Battleship and Scrabble along with tons of modern board organized by type and level of difficulty. Seating is pretty ample but because of folks playing longer games it can get crowded. If two of you are at a larger table expect people to ask to sit with you. To be honest if you want to sit and drink coffee or mess around solo on your laptop I'd strongly recommend a different location. This place is the definition of "Good for Groups"
If you need food they offer several bagel sandwiches and a few panini style. I'm a particular fan of the Greatfull Bomb and The Adult Grilled Cheese. Both come with a sun-dried tomato cream cheese that is tangy with a deeper umani hit than plain cream cheese. Also there is no patio per se but there are a few chairs right out the door you can grab to enjoy your boardgames and coffee on a nice day.

Love the game idea, we're coming back! Nice, calm atmosphere in the morning. Taco bowl was tasty and not too much food. Only improvement would be to have real silverware instead of plastic!
