The cook/chef owner is disrespectful and rude to his customers. He has no interest in customer satisfaction. He is unable to serve more than 2 people at a table. We had 7 people in our party and he could only put out 2 meals at a time. 5 of us had finished eating before our last 2 had ever gotten their meals. When we asked about discounting the last 2 meals the waitress had to ask the cook and he came out and said “They got their meal so no.” Then came out and waited behind the counter to make sure we paid and didn’t skip out on our checks. We definitely are not like the owner. He is truly a piece of work and if you want to enjoy your vacation and lunch, avoid this establishment at all cost.

Very delicious food. I could still get fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and my egg salad on Texas toast was great. The slaw was excellent too.

Wonderful spot for lunch. Food and service were top notch. Nice change of pace from everything on the parkway. Will be back next time we are in area!

Awesome and delishous dining experience!
Sparkling clean and relaxing atmosphere... homemade fries (fresh made from the raw potato) ever, club sandwich and burger are top notch ... you won't find any better in ALL of Gatlinburg!

I do feel bad leaving two stars, but I want to make sure other potential customers are aware. For starters, we had to wait very long to place our order. We had to wait very long for our app. We then had to wait VERY long for our food. In that time, we saw people waiting for a long time and a few people leave without even ordering because they were waiting so long, and people coming in to see where their drinks are. There is one waitress for the inside and the outside and that is unacceptable. She couldn't possibly keep up on everyone's orders, drinks, bills etc. We wanted a quick lunch and altogether we were there almost two hours.

Very unfortunate because the food is very good, but doesn't make up for how long we had to wait.

Very disappointed that we were turned away due to our service support dog. Was told its against health regulations. We explained it was a hypo allergenic dog after he mentioned customers allergies. Shame on this place and the owner.

In regard to your answer.....it was too cold for outdoor dining. Also being disabled made it an issue to do so anyway. Review the federal laws. You cant deny access to a person and their service dog. He was marked with a special collar and zipped up in a stroller. Without him i couldnt have walked in.
You sir, are heartless. I hope the day never comes when you can do so little and have someone ruin it for you.

Two weeks ago I was visiting family due to a passing- & had decided to order lunch for everyone after a long night of emotions. Called the restaurant around 12:30, gentleman answered, stated I wanted to place an order for pickup- he repeatedly questioned where we lived and if we were locals (unsure why that matter if we were picking up) told him yes, we were locals and how my aunt has lived on HH road (maybe 1 1/2 miles away) for 15 years +. Gentleman placed us on hold, saying he was too busy to take an order- overheard him say to a woman that I was waiting where she said “I can’t talk right now! I can’t do it” gentleman got back on the phone where I told him that it was okay, I did not want to continue with the order.
Decided to give them another chance the next day and order in person- walked in, stood there for 20 minutes, woman continually made eye contact with me with no acknowledgment and finally came to take my order. The woman basically tried to talk me out of ordering to go since tickets were backed up for a hour. Okay, no big deal- I’ll just order a smoothie. Smoothie still took 30 minutes, the 2 stars are for the smoothie and location, it was very tasty and location is very cute and quaint, but kind of disappointed about the mismanage of customer to cook volume since that seems to the be issue with other negative reviews. I’m unsure if the only two working are the owners, but they need help. I wish them the best and hope I can have a better experience next time

Highly overrated. We stopped in during vacation to enjoy some coffee and lunch, but left hungry and very disappointed. The food tasted good, but was not as advertised. I was charged $11.95 + tax for a 1/4 lb burger (menu listed it as 1/2 lb, but not even close) and a tablespoon of potato salad. My wife got a $5 soup that was served in a 8 oz coffee cup. A lady sitting at the next table made the same comment about her food. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I shouldn't leave hungry after paying over $13 for a burger! We travel to Gatlinburg at least once a month, but will not be going back to this cafe.

Good place to stop and get lunch if you are going through the arts and crafts trail. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food but there was only one woman serving the indoor and outdoor seating area, running the food, and checking people out. I got the club it was very good and a ton of food.

If you are willing to wait for over an hour for service, and want a surly and antagonistic owner for a cook, than this is the place for you! My family were under the illusion that, like most places around Gatlinburg, this would be a place for a reasonable meal. However we were quite wrong. The wait staff, which consisted of one very harried and stressed lady, who did her best, and one cook (who claimed to be the owner) in a very small dinner. After placing our order (there were only 4 of us) we waited for around an hour and a half before saying anything to the staff. At this point we needed to leave, so gave notice that if we could not be served within another 15 minutes, we would be on our way. We acknowledged that we could see how busy she was, and it wasn't her fault the food was so late coming out of the kitchen. This brought out the cook/owner, who proceeded to be antagonistic and rude to all of us. It did produce salads, but no burgers. When he returned he threw the burger on the table and stormed off. He also said that an hour wait was normal, so we had no right to expect more. At this point I felt that eating food from his kitchen was a bit risky. He followed me outside, while the other folks paid the tab and proceeded to show his contempt for calling him out on his rudeness. Never again for us, and be forewarned if you decide to eat at the Morning Mist Cafe!!!
