The drinks were good, but the service was not. The man behind the counter was not friendly to us at all and never even said hello or anything. We had 4 people in our group and ordered 5 drinks. He seemed annoyed, and after each of us ordered very rudely asked " what else". As we were leaving, another man who had been waiting outside walked in and the guy changed his attitude immediately and said " Hey buddy how are you doing! Sorry about that." It made us feel like like we weren't welcome. We will not be back again next time we visit.

I have gotten coffees from their store many times over the years. Always delicious and top notch. My husband bought me my own espresso machine earlier this year and the last time I stopped in to coffee and company for a coffee with my mom I also grabbed the espresso roast and snickerdoodle roast. Both were phenomenal!! I haven't had time to make the trip down to Gatlinburg again so I decided to order more coffee beans online. Not only did they arrive in less than two days after my order but they sent me a free sample of the Hawaiian roast! And the owner wrote a personal handwritten thank you on the receipt in the box!

I'm that guy that searches for great coffee everywhere I go. I discovered this place 3 year's ago, and now this is all I drink. I order whole beans sent to Louisiana and grind fresh as I need. I've tried all of them and like them all. But Black Bear is my favorite. And when in town I make at least one stop here for the best coffee in the Smokies. Maybe the best anywhere!

We ordered a caramel macchiato and a caramel latte and waited almost 20 mins in line for overly sweet watered down milk … where was the coffee ?? My husband and I took a couple sips and ended up tossing it. Sadly disappointed.. won’t be coming back.

I happened upon this shop by chance and what a wonderful find. The alluring smell of fresh roasted beans greets you as you first walk into the shop. The barista and owner is both friendly and very welcoming offering a delectable coffee at a very reasonable price. It is a breath of fresh air to see a shop keeping up the tradition of great coffee and worth the trip to have an exceptional cup.

Great selection of coffees, coffee drinks, and flavors. the ambiance is nice and endearing and the service is fast and friendly. they also have a good selection of locally flavored coffee beans that they can grind for you if you like and a nice array of gifts and coffee mugs. Look forward to coming back next time we are in town

My mother and I were staying in Gatlinburg and read great reviews about this coffee shop so decided to go for a couple mochas. We had our masks on like good little children and were patiently waiting to give the barista our order. When she finally came to the counter she rudely asked us step away from the counter (which also had a huge plexiglass barrier up). No hello, welcome in or how can I help you. I’m sick to death of rude people thinking you have to spend your money at their establishment. I’ve noticed other reviews mentioning a rude barista and she truly is. Do yourself a favor and go next door to the donut friar where you will get a big smile, delicious donuts and good coffee.

I’ve been getting coffee here for some time now. What’s great is that the coffee and tea selection is wonderful and every product I’ve had has been super tasty. What’s been awful is unfortunately the owner of the shop. She has Extremely poor customer service skills and a bad attitude about things she think would taste “bad”, and will out right complain about you and your order in front of other customers and employees. She has even attempted to charge extra because she simply thought a beverage was “gross”. Completely inappropriate behavior for a business owner in my opinion. I won’t be returning because of how much these experiences have left a bad taste for me personally. Such a shame because the coffee and matcha is so good.

This review was in regard to multiple experiences I've had at this coffee shop, not the specific situation which is referred to here in the company response. You are referring to an experience with someone else regarding the matcha today. I've never had a problem with the matcha other than refusal to serve over ice. Your matcha is delicious. What's not is your demeanor towards your customers while in store. Great product. poor service.

Home Studio Simplified

This coffee shop was top notch! My wife and I visited here while on vacation and my son bought one of their cute animal finger puppets that was displayed at the front counter. Upon returning home, we realized he didn’t make it back home with his animal. I called the coffee shop to purchase a new one and the manager was so helpful and went above and beyond to replace my son’s lost animal finger puppet by shipping us another at no cost to us. Wow! Excellent customer service! We will visit again the next time we are in the Gatlinburg, TN area!
