Atmosphere was nice. Burger was massively undercooked had to be returned.server was friendly and professional. overall nice place. Would be willing to give it a second try and this time ask for the burger to be well done!

Location is perfect, prices (at least for coffee) are good and, mostly, the ambient is superb. I was able to spend almost four hours in my computer listening to their music and feeling relaxed. That's a feat.
Also they have a huge selection of stuff to look at, and maybe buy. They offer cakes, coffee, lunch, charcuterie products, honey, bread, and I can keep going. I will visit again for sure.

Food was great, but most patrons were taking up space with their computers sort of like Starbucks. We came in for a birthday brunch with 9 people because we heard they had tables for several people. The computer users were scattered all over the restaurant most with only a cup of coffee in front of them and not eating. We almost left but actually asked one customer if they wouldn't mind relocating so that we all could sit together. It all worked out and we were pleased with the meal but I probably will not return. I also would not recommend this place to people that actually want to go for a meal.

I think I just had the best English muffin that I've ever had. They have great lox/bagels too! It's a great place for us because it's casual enough that we can bring our children in their bathing suits but quality enough that we don't feel robbed by the higher prices. The coffee was very good too. Plus it's like the only place I know of that's THIS good and yet easy to park at in Charleston. Great customer service. Cheese grits. Free lemon water. Good. hmmmm

Every time I go downtown I have to stop here for the coffee. They serve black tap coffee which is one of the best coffee roasters in town. Donut day on Wednesday is always great! Such a cute cafe and store. Their variety is great. Grab sushi, coffee, a bottle of wine, a new mug, and all kinds of other things. Good luck if you're trying to park around 11 though. The parking lot is small.

Took an 1 hour to receive a salad with grilled chicken that costs $23. Not going back

This place rocks! You can tell the employees are taken care of by the owner, which makes me happy to spend time & money here. So clean inside and spacious with friendly faces eager to serve great food & bev. Oh Yeah, Cleanest restaurant restrooms on the peninsula! & Free Parking! Lovely place in a very old historic building. The coffee was excellent and the pastries we had for our breakfast were all mouthwatering. Definitely going again next time I'm in Charleston.

Friendly staff, delicious food & beverage, in downtown Charleston..what more could a girl ask for?
I am always impressed by the caliber of service exemplified by Mercantile & Mash, and I will always enjoy my visits! I had the pleasure of engaging in a chat with Hunter (what a gem), and it truly made my day a little brighter! 😃10/10

I have been coming here since they opened and have seen a lot of the menu changes they’ve gone through. They’ve cut several of their classics including the pork belly and tots and have now cut ALL tots, which used to be their signature. Some of their more recent choices seem like they’re cutting corners to save $ (including closed face rather than open faced salmon sandwiches) and using cooked smoked salmon instead of cured. I’ll probably keep coming here because of the vibe, ease of parking, and good coffee but I’ll miss their old menus for sure.
