Um, it looks fancier than it is. Had a large party so we got lots of dish varieties; none of them were good. The description of the dishes is not accurate to what gets delivered. It looked like microwave food, no seasoning, and they don't have professional bartenders for the bar that know basic cocktails. We had to awkwardly eat it anyway because it was a business dinner... Our server was really sweet and attentive, the food and drinks were just not good. Would not go back nor recommend to anyone.

Upon entering the establishment, it was very clear that we weren’t welcome. No employee nor sign indicated if we were allowed to sit, or if we had to wait to be helped? Weird. We opted to sit at the bar to order food as we were finally instructed to do by the bartender after having asked, but he couldn’t have been any more displeased with our doing so. Maybe he was having a bad day, but every interaction we had was unpleasant and, frankly, rude. I thanked him repeatedly throughout our meal for bringing our drinks, salads, entrees etc, and he ignored me EVERY single time. Though, when another patron approached the bar unsure of what to order, he was friendly and willing to help. Again, weird. Essentially, he made a point to say as few words to us as possible and, when I politely asked for the check, he literally tossed, almost slapping the bill folder at the counter near me, saying nothing. I regret tipping. We will not be back.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The building is beautiful and centrally located. My gf and I were staying here for a concert at the sylvee. Only a 8 minute Uber. And did I forget? Awesome views!

This is the worst experience I have ever had at any establishment. I do not ever write reviews yet with horrible situation I was in, have to say something. I have never once so disrespected and verbally abused by an establishment. The "Breakfast Attendant" was downright nasty he must have been having a bad day. Which we all do, yet his behavior and mannerisms was not at all acceptable. Please go there if you want to be abused and threatened.

The Post has the most! My not-so-secret getaway lunch spot. It's nice to enjoy quality food with quality service. Last time, I had the Turkey Cobb salad that was loaded with fresh and delicious veggies, turkey, egg, bacon, and blue cheese! Everything is prepared so beautifully. It always feels like the kitchen is making food only for you.

I used to like going here for brunch, but they keep cutting items from their menu. They had a really good Steak and Eggs, but it's not available any more. They also had a really good Shakshuka dish, but that has also been removed. The Egg Benedict is mediocre at best. If we do go there for Brunch I don't even order off the Breakfast menu anymore. They do at least have a decent Chicken Quesadilla, but they'll probably remove that from the menu soon too.

I was in town for a confrence and looked online when I found The Post. I viewed the online menu and saw the veggie wrap, and said Yes! That's it. A 5 minute walk and when I entered I was greated like an old friend. I decided to ask what the soup was, seeing others eating in delight. New England clam chowder, the bar manager says. I am in! I got a bowl and was so full I couldn't eat my wrap. (I am eating that now for dinner and yumm!!!). Fresh, filling, made with care and love. 🤌 I observed other patrons trying new beers on-tap that the bar manager added and was describing. He definitely cares for his patrons and know his drink. 🍻 I would highly recommend. It was suggested to me to come back for breakfast! Perhaps I will. Cheers.

Absolutely wonderful little restaurant near the Capitol. I've rarely had such a delightful experience at a restaurant! It was bright and charming atmosphere, with a variety of seating options- bar, tables, and lots of configurations. Nice art, comfortable chairs and tons of windows looking out at the Capitol and the neighborhood, along with fun music that wasn't too fussy, but was modern enough that my kids could sing along (even if I tried to get them to stop). We were there the day before Thanksgiving for lunch so it wasn't busy, but I can imagine it would be on different days because it's just such a lovely space. They had a coffee bar (pictured) which we all appreciated with a variety of good coffees (including a decent decaf), creams/milks and flavored syrups. We were all over the moon (because we all needed the caffeine, and we didn't have to settle for just ok coffee). Between us we had pancakes, French toast, the Wisconsin omelet and a Mexican frittata, and each of them were delicious, including the side greens with my omelet. Not overly fussy, but definitely fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned. But the cherry on top of all the other good experiences was the fantastic service we got. The server was running the entire restaurant and he was friendly, professional and funny! I left feeling like I wanted to come back just because I enjoyed his service- making jokes with my kids and making sure we were taken care of- so much. I've also rarely had such good service, and would absolutely recommend The Post to anyone visiting Madison! I hope you try it and I hope your experience is as great as ours was!
