Love this place. New items every week, and they're always outstanding. The staff is so friendly too. Such a great way to start your day.
In the past I have tried their fruit tarts and pain au chocolat, which have always been delicious. This past weekend I tried a ham and cheese croissant from the farmers market and it was excellent. I ate it cold on the go, but I imagine it would be delicious heated up also. It is usually my girl who picks up so I still haven’t been inside the storefront. But one day the timing will be right and I will stop into the actual space for some delicious pastries etc
Cannot say enough great things about this place! the lady that was working on 5/17/23 was SUCH a sweet soul! Customer service is top tier, along with the drinks + treats! Super cute and dainty place to check out.
If we could give it10 stars we would. Can't say enough about the service and pastries at this sweet place. I didn't know Altoona had a French bakery. It was an amazing find and mouth watering treats. PLUS Pavola!!!We will be back!
Absolutely incredible place! My wife and I came here for the first time and loved it! The freshest, Mind blowing pastries (had the chocolate croissant, braided Nutella croissant, strawberry gateau and macaroons). Really great coffee and people! Will absolutely be back!!!! I will strongly recommend this place to everyone!
Expensive, and not always what the menu says it is. On a small stand by the pastries, they are selling tins of loose leaf Harney & Sons tea. On their menu board, they boast "loose leaf teas-$3.50" under hot drinks. I was excited to order one, seeing that they were selling Harney teas which are my favorite. I was anticipating my hot tea would be served in a single serve teapot (like they do at The Goat Coffeehouse in EC, who also sell and use Harney teas) and that they would have some nice flavors to choose from. The options offered were english breakfast, earl grey, peppermint and chamomile, pretty basic. I ordered the earl grey. I got a simple coffee mug with a Bigelow tea bag of earl grey. To me, selling higher end teas on a shelf in your establishment, and then charging $3.50 for a literal mug of hot water with a Bigelow teabag as a hot tea was just icky business practice. Don't advertise a brand of tea that you're selling by the tin, and then sell the cheapest tea to people who are going to sit and drink it with their breakfast. Annnnnd......is a teabag a "loose leaf tea"? No, no it is not. It is a teabag! Don't advertise on your chalkboard that you are selling loose leaf tea to drink when you are in fact selling Bigelow tea bags! Either specify "tea bag" or just leave it at "tea", but it is false advertising to call it loose leaf tea. Tea in a tea bag is not loose leaf tea.
This used to be one of my favorites. It had true patisserie. Not anymore.
Incredible croissant and coffee in a beautifully curated little space. I’ll be back!
Friendly workers, lots of choices. Different items everytime I stop. Beverages are yummy. Reasonably priced.
Husband bought me treats from here for my birthday. Was a delicious variety. Would get again. The fruit tart was my favorite.
Always great coffee, awesome homemade pastries!
The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
I literally plan my drive based on my ability to stop here on my way from St Paul to Madison. The best pastries in the Midwest.
This spot has quickly moved up the rotation. I always leave full, satisfied & energy. I just wish my stomach could handle one of everything each visit!
A hidden gem! I recommend this place to everyone. The macaroons and the savory croissants are out of this world. The staff are always nice, as well as the owner! Knowing she's a professionally trained pastry chef really shows in what she creates. Absolutely try it if you get the chance.
We (my wife and I) had a good experience at the "Nostalgic Bean". To begin, they have a very good coffee, we also tried a pecan mini pie that was good. I can for sure recommend this place if you are looking for good coffee shop.
First time in this coffee shop and I did like their coffee. I also got a pecan mini pie. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good coffee.
Top 3 coffee shop in the area in my opinion. Bakery is outstanding, great drinks, great staff. 100% gotta check this shop out!
Love love love! Can't say enough good things about this place! Everything is wonderful for coffee and staff. You must go!
Amazing customer service and delicious desserts. Their croissants take like they churn their own butter. So good! 100% recommend!
