First time here, and I ordered the ribeye, lentil soup and seafood pasta. All were delicious. Easily in the top 3 steaks I’ve had in my life. Server Bela was great, head chef was very friendly. I had to tell him personally how good the food was. I will definitely be back.
Angie made the experience the absolute best! She was fun, kind, quick, and accurate. The food was excellent, and the ambiance on point.
Sarah the waitress was phenomenal. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Definitely would return.
My husband an I have been here 4 times now and every time the food is AMAZING! We've never had any complaints at all. Until tonight. He surprised me with dinner here this Valentine's Day. He called ahead of time.....twice and was told we didn't need a reservation. When we got there, guess what? We needed a reservation. We were able to sit at the bar and eat after waiting for seats. Wasn't a bad experience. As a matter of fact, I had a wonderful evening talking to the other couples at the bar. We seemed to be the entertainment of the evening with my husband's account of how we met and got married. All I'm saying is please be sure you get the right information when calling ahead!! We got the pork Milenese with French beans and house salad. Again, the food was AMAZING! Dessert is wonderful too. I've had the lavender creme Brule and tiramisu. Both delectable!! They don't short the liquor when making drinks either. You get your money's worth in everything!
Smokey and delicious oyster stew and great service!
Wonderful dining experience. We'll be back for sure!
The pot roast was fork tender and delicious! The bartender was on point with her drinks and the service was top notch. I only have two small issues and they are minor and only an opinion: I wish the bread had been warm. Maybe they don't serve it warm for a reason but I wish it had been warmed. The second is I would have liked the potatoes and carrots with the pot roast to be a bit larger. A pot roast is a stick to your ribs meal, partly because of the larger cuts of vegetables. Otherwise, I am definitely coming back!!
I didn't try a main dish because the appetizers sounded appealing but didn't quite hit the mark. I'm glad they were cheap but the bill with 3 apps and 3 cocktails shouldn't be 80 bucks to be honest. The main courses are too expensive to take a chance. From the outside you don't think it's going to look the way that it does but it can get a bit crowded. This place probably is good but I don't think I'll be back.
The Press Room is a gem with a romantic ambiance. I recently took a friend from out of town-it was her first time and its her new favorite. We shared the Seafood stew, pasta, and beet salad. We made friends with the table beside us who enjoyed the rockfish and butternut squash cannelloni. Over the weekend, I shared oysters with a girlfriend, followed by the zabaglione for dessert. Everything is always lovely at the Press Room!
Drove 1 hour to have lunch but it was closed even though maps says its open. People inside were super uninterested in me clarifying their times
Once again, an amazing dining experience at The Press Room! Our group of 4 were treated royally by our server, Angie. We enjoyed the clam chowder and oyster stew specials, along with the mussels. Everything was fabulous. I had the hanger steak and my husband had the pot roast. Delicious! Our friends had the Pasta bolognese and loved it! From the well prepared cocktails to the great dessert selections, nothing disappointed. The staff and service couldn't have been better! Can't wait to return!
It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. We came here for my fiancé's birthday, and from the amazing atmosphere to our outstanding server, Angie, we had a wonderful time. If you're in Shepardstown and are looking for a phenomenal dining experience, look no further. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and we will certainly be back for more!
The food was great but I hate that they don’t feed their servers. I asked what they thought about my dish and they had never been able to try it.
Such a beautiful restaurant and excellent staff & service. Food is delicious. We had PEI mussels. Pasta bolognese, salmon and pot roast . Plus lavender crème brûlée.Everything was amazing
Excellent spot for dinner! The service was great- I had a reservation for 8pm and they were able to seat us a half an hour early. Wonderful menu plus an assortment of daily specials. Everything we ordered came quickly and was fresh and delicious! Would highly recommend both the hanger steak and raspberry chicken. The staff was professional and courteous. Obviously a great team at The Press Room. Eat here, you won’t regret it!
Wonderful meal served perfectly. Highly recommend.
This is a home feeling spot. I love library touch, small and cozy. I was in WV for my birthday and my boyfriend took me there for dinner and omg the food is everything. I'm so picky my bf was shocked that I loved the food so much. I was impressed it's a jem for sure.
Great place! Wife and I s had our 1st Anniversary dinner here. We'll be back!!!!
We came into the restaurant for dinner right around 5:00. The hostess said they were fully reserved, but we could order dinner at the bar. There were only the seats across from the bar at a small counter. We took a seat and waited 15-20 minutes for someone to help us. Once we finally got a server, she informed us we could not be served food at the counter across from the bar. No one even apologized for wasting our time or tried to find a way to serve us dinner. I would never come back here due to the poor service and lack of hospitality.
This was a dining experience me, not my partner will NEVER forget. It was definitely one of the most exquisite, delicious, most perfect dining experiences we’ve had for sure! I keep referring to our dinner as a “dining experience” because that’s exactly what it was! From being greeted at the door and walked to our table, from the server’s kindness and knowledge of the menu/specials AND allergen information, all the way to the presentation of each course and Birthday wishes at the end, everything was AMAZING! The server gave us time to get settled in and asked what we’d like to drink, while recommending some starters and listing the specials. We started with the Grilled Peach, as well as the Mussels appetizers. Both were presented PERFECTLY and cooked to perfection. We almost didn’t want to eat the food it looked so good on the plate! My partner had a martini that was delicious! For our meals, I had the Duck Breast, and my partner had the Hanger Steak. Both entrees were delicious!! SOOOO GOOD!!! We both also had dessert. I, the tiramisu, and my partner, the chocolate bomba (I believe it was called) - a chocolate shell with ice cream on the inside. From the beginning of the meal when we mentioned we were celebrating my partner’s birthday, the server (I feel so bad that I can’t remember her name :( ) remembered and served her dessert with a candle! When we return to the area, we definitely will be back!!
