The breakfast burrito is delicious and no skimping on the filling. I also liked the traditional burger for lunch-cooked well and the brioche bun was perfect for holding it altogether. It’s a solid menu for breakfast and lunch. A big bonus is friendly staff that care.
Two stars because the employees were very respectful and courteous. The cappacino I ordered was horrible, burned and way too much extra syrups and stuff added to it. I ordered the simple egg breakfast. Less the two eggs and they were very overcooked. The bread was HARDLY toasted and not buttered not was I offered anything for the toast, breakfast potatoes horrible... No seasoning undercook and cold. The bacon I added was 3$ for 3 pieces and was limp almost raw I left 2 3/4 pieces on the plate and over half of everything else. Was offered to remake the coffee I refused as I had zero faith in them and they did not offer to make up for the breakfast. USED to be a wonderful place to eat. New management or owner is running this into the ground and I will not be returning. Wasted 40$ for a breakfast Thanks pov bay
Thanks for not updating your hours on google! Just drove from Burien to find out that you're closed.
I’m really disappointed, I’ve been to this cafe a couple of times right before covid hit and loved it, I got really sad to see that it was still closed when restaurants were starting to open back up, but understood since they were a small business. I’ve waited two years and this morning I finally decided to check again and saw that they were open! I got all ready and left the house at 12pm to get there because they were supposed to close at 2pm. I see that they have an “open” painted on their windows, but when we pull up in the parking lot, the open light sign is off and there’s a “temporarily closed” sign on their door. I double check google maps knowing that I couldn’t have misread their schedule. but no, I’m there at 1:15pm and their schedule says “closing soon at 2pm” on google maps. I’m disappointed, I hope to see you guys open again, but really need to fix your schedule.
I was recently hired here and was SO EXCITED! Literally my dream job. I finally had landed a job I would be in love with and no matter the day, I'd go home, wake up the next day with a smile on my face and a warm heart. ONLY, I was then informed the night prior to my first day, from the man whom I had my hour interview with, that be himself had just QUIT and that I was no longer welcomed to be apart of the crew at Poverty Bay Cafe/ Fusion. Literally really did break my heart to be honest. Crushed me. I don't know really what went down. After personally meeting all my new co-workers I finally had a feeling that for the first time in a long time I was going to be able to be apart of something GREAT. Something I had been looking and praying for, for a very long time... RANT OVER. GREAT FOOD AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. CHECK IT OUT!
My girlfriend had been talking this place up all week, so naturally I was excited to try it because she’s really good at picking out delicious breakfast spots. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles from a friendly hostess and seated promptly. The waiter/waitress took our drink order and said they would return to proceed with our food order. After a few minutes there were 3 other parties that arrived. It seemed that our server had forgot about us because they helped the other parties, checked on other tables and never returned to us to get our order. We ended up leaving without eating. Long story short the place is cute, and they have a decently priced menu with a few good breakfast/lunch options, but the staff is young and not that experienced. Nicole was our server. Buyer beware.
My first visit was today after I went on a house tour with real estate agent that's closer to this location I had lunch there and it was delicious the best part is they serve mud water ☕ and their customer service is positive 😀
Everything our party ordered was delicious. Breakfast burrito was big enough to share. Service was friendly and prompt including table visits.
Delicious food, reasonable wait times, comfortable seating, and the prices... are covid prices, but thats everywhere. I highly recommend this place.
Food was not good at all. My food looked like vomit. It had a taste like it had been cooked in old oil.
The food was pretry good and they were very friendly but it took 50 minutes to receive our meal even though it was not busy.
I have not been to the actual location, but order their coffee online. Super good! And for the price, it is such a great buy. Will continue to be a long distance customer!
Visited this place today for the first time. I had the biscuits and gravy and a waffle. My husband had the poverty bay breakfast hash. Both entrees were really good! However the waffle really let me down. For me it tasted like a pre made mix and not a homemade waffle. I was expecting something else! The syrup probably wasn't real maple syrup but only the fake corn syrup with maple flavor. It didn't match the rest of our order and with one waffle being 5 dollars it was not worth it. The gravy was well seasoned and thick. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery! My husband said no word and ate quick and that means it was good :)
You are in the right place if you are looking for a local eatery with lay back atmosphere. poverty bay hash breakfast was fresh and generously portion. The poverty jack sandwich was excellent.
Half an hour wait for a small English muffin w eggs in it. Server scolded me for asking it to be a to go order, literally two seconds after putting my order in "ugh, you need to tell us next time". As if it's my fault she entered it in the system quickly and did not ask me if it was for "here or to go". Used to be a favorite spot, service now lacking. The patron sitting next to me even said "good luck getting your food, you've waited a long time". I had to approach a server to request to check on my order, while there was another free server just standing/waiting.
1st time here and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Paid for my Omelet, side of bacon and jasmine tea at 930am. Got tea and watched everyone else eat until 1020am. Went up to counter, was told there was a mix up, " it'll be out in 5 mins" ! If it came within 10 minutes, i still be ok. But No ! It was 1035am when i asked for my money back. I was still charged for the Tea. COME ON MAN ! If there is a - 5 stars i would've pushed it.
If you're looking for a quaint, "no frills", environment... this is it! Found snugly nestled between 2 other shops, one can easily miss it... but for those who like finding new spots, inside is a large selection coffee shop, with breakfast and lunch menus. Orders are placed at the counter, you are given a number teepee, and please seat yourself! There are two seating areas. To the left is what seems a younger crowd, with laptops and notebooks. To the right is an older crowd, more prone to chatting... without technology 😉 the food was good, service prompt, and restrooms were clean. Personally, not my every day go-to, but well worth an occasional return visit!
Very chill place with wonderful staff and clearly a strong following of regulars. Outstanding brekky, and fab coffee! All told, great atmosphere for small meetings and great meals.
Came in with my boyfriend for the first time since we always pass this place on our way home. We came in unknowingly 10 mins before close yesterday and oh my god, the staff was so nice! Since it was our first time she told us about the specials, all the millions of drinks they make, and gave amazing recommendations! We got a buttercream and snickers coffee and it was definitely made with love. We tried two different pastry cookies, and as we were waiting on the coffee it was just so much fun talking to the barista who had been working there for 5 years. Her personality shines, her coffee was amazing, and overall we left saying what a nice place with great service (despite us coming in right before close). Forgot your name but thank you!
Extremely friendly and welcoming to me even tho I didn't have any money to buy anything, they still invited me to sit inside anywhere and get warm on a freezing Tues morning and gave me coffee on the house. Now that is what I call great customer service and wish every where was the same way. Thank you PBC for making me feel like a human being, a deserving person and very special.
