Decent food. Outrageous prices. Breakfast for 2 pancakes for 1 and scrambled eggs for me was almost 50.
My group stopped in while en route back to Northern VA from Shenandoah. I actually liked this place. The food was good. The house made bagel was phenomenal. The pancakes were great. The shrimp bahn mi was good, it just lacked flavor. Overall, my group was pleased with the food. It was fresh. I like that it was locally sourced. The restaurant was quaint and charming. The one star is really to bring attention to an incident that occurred when dining in. The water is self serve. There was a cup of bamboo straws next to the water dispenser. I got a cup of water for my partner. When she drank from the straw an earwig that was about an inch long dislodged into her mouth. She spit it out and was literally shaking from the shock of almost having swallowed it. I brought it to the staffs attention. The servers seemed concerned but the manager was rather dismissive saying “oh, she found a little bug in her water.” It was far from little. I wasn’t expecting anything out of the exchange. The food was paid for. There was just an overall lack of empathy. I told her she may want to check the water and definitely check/maybe dispose of the straws, as usually earwigs gravitate towards moisture and there may be more. The issue went unresolved. We were there close to an hour. When we left, same water, same straws on the counter.
Best food, service & atmosphere!!! Closest to nature & friendly staff
Hidden gem! What a great place to have top-tier food right after the camp. Really enjoyed the backyard with a stream, and their coffee was one of the best I’ve had. 10/10 would recommend.
I came from out of town with my family and this was the best food I’ve had since I’ve been here. They have vegan and vegetarian options and The staff was super nice!
Diamond in the ruff. This place is 🔥
Food and service was great!
Great healthy options. The Mediterranean plate was delicious
We stopped here to charge my car and for a bite just before the kitchen closed. The staff were so kind. The Panang curry was absolutely divine! I appreciated the all vegetarian menu, the hot sauce station, and good beer selection. Cute place, family friendly, a nice find for this area- we will definitely be back!
Beyond good and they are an environmentally sustainable shop! The food was beyond good and they grow it all in the back. Their shop is run all off the solar panels out in their backyard. Super cool joint! It is a must stop in again kinda place.
I was not sure what to expect at first as this was an impromptu visit, but we were thrilled to have had breakfast here. I had a sausage breakfast sandwich with thinly folded egg. The sausage had a unique fennel/floral note that I really can only find in the Shenandoah and seek out. The sandwich had a sweet and slightly spicy pepper jelly. It complemented the sweet and salty flavor of the sausage perfectly. My wife had a traditional pancake sausage and egg breakfast which was wholesome but also refined in that the flavor of each component exceeded all expectations for what would normally be perceived as a rooty tooty at ihop. Next time, and we will be back, we will try more of the menu.
I photographed an elopement at Little Stony Man in Shenandoah National Park and this was the perfect spot to meet up with the couple. The staff was very friendly, the coffee and food menu looked great, and there's the cutest little shop to mill around in while waiting.
What a gem! I was not expecting to find this place but I am so glad i did! I got the wrap with shittake "bacon" easily the best wrap I have ever had. Crunchy and flavorful! They have vegan/veggie options with locally scorced foods! . They have a cute little store as well.
Soooo good! This was a much needed stop. I got the panang chicken and it was delicious!!!
I had the wonderful Breakfast Báhn mì accompanied with a delicious Lavender Latte. This place has a great atmosphere with that guilt free feeling that only the off grid lifestyle can provide! Will absolutely return next visit to Sperryville!
Excellent place. While traveling make it a point to stop. Great atmosphere
Great place and food. We had to sit outside because of our dog so "atmosphere" was chilly.
We stopped here on the way to Shenandoah National Park. The menu has great variety with healthy options as well. The food was great. I got a chance to talk to whom I thought might have been the floor manager. She told me they can usually run the restaurant during the week on solar power, but the weekends can be demanding so they use some conventional power. She told me that when they get more power then they can use, it goes back to the grid. But the county actually charges them when they need power from the grid even when they have provided surplus energy to the utility. Try to walk around their grounds if you get a chance and you'll see the large array of solar panels in the back. I would recommend this restaurant to others
The food was good but not amazing, is great that they are on the way to the park so you have a meal before you start your adventure, They have beer and wine. My pulled pork was good but the chicken fig one was not that good.
Stopped by after looking at the pictures and reading the reviews. After we placed our order and paying for it, a lady came out and said they ran out of chicken due to the busy weekend. It was very disappointing to learn that after placing our order and not getting a sincere apology. The place has more like a hipster vibe and it is a bit pricey. Paid 24 dlls for bagels, bag of chips and 2 tbs of coleslaw.
