I'm used to expensive food as I am from the NYC metro area... I was not ready for a $28 bill for an omelette and a small latte. The omelette took 15 minutes and was burnt while being super watery. The latte was eh. There are piles of diners nearby that were cheaper, gluten free, and looked better. This place had nothing to offer except looking like it was a bit higher end, but it was anything but. With all that, there is a large well displayed sign "food and drink policy: No Refunds, all sales final". That should have been a tip off as I rarely ever see restaurants not willing to refund a terrible or burnt meal.

Had the overnight oats. Really good! The toppings give it a nice blend of textures. And it tastes great. Very good coffee. Everything came out quickly. Indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful. And all the chairs and tables are well maintained, no wobblers. There were so many things on the menu I would have liked to try because they sound delicious, but I didn't have that much of an appetite because it was pretty early. I was really happy with the coffee and oatmeal, though. PS, you don't have to bus your table.

The coffee tasted old and burnt. We asked the server a couple questions about the baked goods and she had no idea. After putting the cream and sugar in our coffee, made sure to say goodbye and to have a nice day (we were the only people in the shop) the server didn't even reply.

Management must be notified of Hispanic females behind counter at this location. They are rude and purposely mess up your $5 cup of coffee orders. Also, is it not expected for their making a simple flower pattern in your lattes? These Hispanics do NOT make any patterns and they want us Americans to call them USA barista workers.

Very smooth coffee, shame about the long wait with only one person working and the 9 am rush.

I saw the cookie advertisements all around the Metro station, so thought it would be fun to get a few and surprise me husband with a cookie tasting. I noticed the price wasn’t posted anywhere, but just made my selection and checked out. I was l shocked that the 4 cookies were $27. But, it would still be a fun surprise, so I thought it would be worth it. Unfortunately, we aren’t keen on really dry, crumbly cookies, and they didn’t taste that different when we tried bites of four different ones. So, not to our taste. The cookies may be great with coffee, but we don’t like coffee.

The matcha latte tasted great and the staff was friendly and prompt. I did have an issue with the cookies and muffins we ordered. They weren't fully done and one tasted like batter and flour. I would try this location again though, the food looks good.

I liked the design/decor as soon as I walked in. They also have interesting wallpaper haha you might see a familiar face or two. I keep it pretty basic when it comes to coffee so I asked the barista what a Cortado is since there’s no description on the menu. His response and general demeanor had a vibe of being totally disinterested so I didn’t inquire further. The latte and croissant both hit the spot. I was considering something heavier but was turned off at the idea of paying $20 for an egg sandwich. After seeing a few sandwiches being served to others I noticed the portions were huge and appear to be worth the high price point

This is a beautiful coffee shop right in front of the King St Metro Station. If you're waiting to catch Amtrak or VRE and have some spare time on your hand, this is a great place to grab a cup of coffee and snacks. I've tried their latte a few times and it's great. But it's their cookies that keep bringing me back. They're really good. While most cafes have pre-made cookies that are likely delivered by a 3rd party, For Five claim that they bake theirs in-house daily. And from the taste and freshness, I have to say that has to be correct. I haven't tried any of their soups and sandwiches, but based on the presentation alone, they look delicious.

Great coffee, but they have some unique items on the menu with no description. The barista had to explain it to three people while I was there.

I get quality and I get that you get what you pay for for good quality products but this takes the cake literally my first experience several months ago I got the overnight oats which was incredibly good but that was almost like $15. Also today I went to get me a small hot chocolate and a s’mores cookie that came up to almost $15 as well just for a small hot chocolate and a cookie so I switched out the drink and got a regular iced tea which still brought my bill up to close to $13 so the tea itself was almost 5 dollars and the cookie was about $7 . 8 grant it the cookie was absolutely amazing and very filling but who wants to budget for a cookie

Wife ordered a mocha and I ordered a vanilla latte. Couldn't tell the difference between the two. Both had no flavor and the muffin we ordered didn't seem to be very fresh. Was hard on the outside and very bland.

Came here on a Saturday morning and ordered 2 cortados and a cold brew. After paying I watched stunned as the barista used two shots that had to of been pulled before we even walked in the door. We were the only people in there at the time, which is just ridiculous to pull shots ahead of time when you aren’t busy. The shots were sitting there at a minimum a couple of minutes. As expected the cortado tasted disgusting. The cold brew also tasted extremely weak and acidic, the opposite of what a cold brew should taste like. The food looked excellent with huge portion sizes, but we didn’t get any so I can’t review it. Will not be coming back.

I would not recommend this coffee shop. Not only did they open 10 minutes late they have no coffee available. I ended up order an Americano with two extra shots and literally it was mostly water. This was such a huge disappointment because I’ve been to their other locations and had wonderful experiences.

Great coffee, customer service but most of all very spacious. Room for everyone to sit, which is rare for coffee shops in Alexandria. Actual genuine coffee, but whoever is their baker deserves an award, some of the largest and freshest muffins, croissants and other pastries I’ve came across in old town. Great customer service, and I was even given a punch card for visits. Indoor and outdoor seating and friendly staff. I do think the items are a little pricey, but worth the quality. High quality Matcha and Tea as well!
