Plenty of parking, which is needed since the food is so good. Enjoy a Bloody Mary with your breakfast or lunch too!!! Nice pastry selection as well. Small menu, but tasty options!
This place is so lovely, we went twice on our recent trip! Great coffee, roasted on site, and tasty breakfast items. I got breakfast sandwiches on gluten free bread instead of a biscuit. I also got delicious tea cakes (also gluten free) from the bakery place. Big patio, friendly vibe. We got to meet the owners and they really make this place feel like an extension of their home!
My favorite place to eat when I'm in the area. It may appear to be like a "tea" room but it is anything but finger sandwiches. Come hungry, you'll be very happy when you leave. My husband & I walked away FULL. The burger is not on the menu but ask for it. I will say it is The BEST burger we've had in a long time. My friends have had the chicken salad on lettuce, best they had...almost a great as mom's. My husband is a coffee drinker, he had three cups & could have enjoyed several more if it wasn't time for us to leave. Eating inside is a bit noisy but there are 3 separate indoor dining areas & a lovely outdoor patio area. Service was quick, pleasant & educated on the products being serviced.
These prices make me laugh! 12 dollars for a grilled cheese 🤣 you do realize it's not rocket science to make right? I can make a delicious one for like 2 bucks! 15 dollars for a burger! No thanks lol even other restaurant chains in the area don't charge this much
We stopped by midday for iced coffee and treats. We were so pleased with everything. I didn't know it was a restaurant as well, so next trip in to town, we will definitely be coming back. I love the brand image for so many reasons. You have to go in that place to witness how amazing everything is from the drinks to the vibe, the layout, the super kind, and helpful ppl working it truly are. If you're close, do NOT pass this place up. Thanks for the road trip treats 🫶
Have never been disappointed with the food, service, or the coffee from this establishment. Best cafe in Abingdon.
Absolutely best place to eat and get coffee, tea, chai (so yumo), etc!! They are open for breakfast and lunch only, so bear that in mind when you go check The Girl and The Raven for yourself. We live in Las Vegas and were visiting the Tri-cities in TN, staying in Bristol, VA. Abingdon is not far from the Tri cities at all. We went two different days!! We loved the food/beverages, pastries, the employees, the ambience of the restaurant that much! The tomato bisque...oh my goodness....the very best I have ever had!! The food is so fresh and I believe locally sourced. This is a must go to restaurant! I so wish they were in Vegas as we probably would be there every day! I just ordered their 5lb coffee online as my husband loved the "Dark Side" that much! Just go and see for yourself!
Do not miss this place. Stone ground purple corn grits, fluffy biscuits, real sausage. Fast and kind service. Clean bathrooms. Real art.
I really enjoyed my breakfast here. I'm a bit of a foodie, and I love coffee, so I was intrigued with the Magic, an espresso drink similar to a Flat White, but less diluted. That, paired with an exceptional rendition of Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, made my day! Very inviting space, very nice people.
Went for breakfast before work a few weeks ago and was probably my favorite breakfast of all time. The chef’s special was a blueberry compote french toast, and had lemon zest and cream. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this dish. Everything was perfectly done and no element overpowered any part of the dish. If this dish ever comes back, MAKE SURE to get it!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Abingdon. The food always has a homemade touch and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. 5 STARS !
Waited 30 minutes and saw 5 other tables served that came in after we did so we left hungry and mad
I’m normally quite happy with this sweet little spot but the last two times my partner and I have been for coffee they have been terrible. I’m not sure what the sudden difference is but the last 4 coffee drinks we’ve gotten on both regular drink menu and the seasonal late winter and early spring menus haven’t tasted anything like the description/ been very good and weren’t very hot either. I keep coming back because I like this place but something just ain’t right the last few times we’ve been… :/
Great soup and sandwich! Sat at the community table in the coffee shop area and was able to meet the very cordial owner- Hugh! Very nice find.
What a great way to start the day in Abingdon. The latte was delicious, brekkie options were great and they can customize depending on what you like. The biscuit was probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. They definitely go the extra mile service wise. We went two different days, and the owner greeted us both times. Prices are very reasonable, specially for the portion size. Food was as fresh as it gets. They have blue corn grits. This was our “fuel” breakfast to ride the Creeper Trail later on.
The coffee is better than anything I had in 5 years of living in Portland. The food is incredible too.
Great coffee shop in an old house. The side rooms seem a little bare but nicely decorated. The main area is great - display cases full of wonderful pastries! All of the food was wonderful. We had full breakfasts and brought pastries home for later.
Quaint and cozy, this was a great experience. Loved my latte and the crackling fire on a rainy day.
Stopped by while traveling through Virginia - great coffee spot, and their soup and sandwich specials were delicious! Grabbed two pastries to go for dessert - a strawberry tea cake and a strawberry lemon muffin, bright and tasty even though the drive was cloudy! Will stop by on our way back through for a pick-me-up!
OUTSTANDING! We entered the full parking lot, ordered and Sarah delivered our delicious lunch within minutes! I highly recommend the Reuben!
