Impressive spot with a fair bit going on, between the shop, the cafe and the school. Good selection of pastries, sandwiches, and such in the cafe with plenty of outdoor seating.
Not for me, but I see the appeal. The shop has just about every kind of flour or pastry or dessert mix you could imagine, but the café left lots to be desired. The pastries and desserts were fresh and delicious but the sandwiches were prepackaged in plastic to go containers and looked, felt, and tasted like something you would get out of an airport vending machine. I would recommend this place to anyone who really likes baking or who wants to take the classes, but don't come here just for the food unless you are only getting pastries or loaves of bread. The restrooms were nice and clean and parking was easy. The outdoor seating areas are perfect for a good weather day and there was some indoor seating available too.
Flour's king, King arthur flour house
Great products, wonderful people! So many great things to buy in the store, good luck not spending too much money. Cafe had good baked goods! Highly recommend getting croissants!
Had long wanted to visit King Arthur’s VT store. Finally made it there and felt it was a bit of a mixed bag. The main plus is their huge selection of baking ingredients and supplies, including some that may be hard to find locally. Minuses include prices for their flour, as well as its freshness. 5 lb bags of their signature flours are slightly less expensive at Whole Foods in NYC where I live, so there’s no real cost savings. I did buy a bag of their self-rising flour since it isn’t stocked locally, but after I got home, I noticed the “best-by” was less than 4 from date of purchase. Again, KA flour locally purchased in NYC usually has a best-by date of at least a year out.
Frustratingly slow every time. We have been here over a dozen times. You will wait over 30 mins for literally anything including a coffee or a sandwich. They are not short staffed. Just incredibly inefficient.
Visited on a Saturday around noon. Place was busy but not packed with busses of tourists as can happen. Just a heads up if you are unsure of what to expect. This is not an IKEA sized facility or a Disneyesque baking experience. It is a modest sized store with all of the KA brand merch plus a cafe. There is also a kitchen baking bread you can view from a window. Place is exceptionally well maintained , clean and they have systems and procedures to be able to handle large volumes of people efficiently.
Amazing place to visit. The delicious smell rolls through your brain and straight down to your stomach. You have to try it.
Very popular place to meet friends with fine coffee and variety of bread.
I received a Thermapen (expensive food thermometer) from King Arthur probably about 5 years ago. When the battery was low and needed to be changed, I discovered that the battery cover wouldn't open. My wife brought it to King Arthur Baking and they replaced it with no questions asked. It's rare for companies to provide that level of support for items they have sold. Impressive!
Wow! What a special place. From the store filled with the best in gadgets and everything you could need for baking, to the cafe filled with such an amazing variety of baked goods this place is a do not miss. Some things that stood out to me: sourdough starters, a tasting kitchen in the back, the almond cookies ❤️, lemon loaf, etc. Basically every single thing we tried was amazing and I will have to come back at least once more before we leave. Highlight of my time in Vermont.
So very proud of my self discipline. I bought 2 Sticky buns, that's it❤️😊👍💕
My only complaint is they can't heat the pastries. So my Mom's cinnamon roll was hard as a rock. We had to take it and her coffee back to her house. Soft and warm.
Really great place for a pastry or quick sandwich, but the main reason to visit is their amazing store filled with every kind of baking tool and specialty baking food you can imagine! This is a baker's paradise, with every type of vanilla, baking chip, and flour you could ever want to use in the kitchen. Their café sells coffee, tea, and breakfast food 8-11 am. Then they switch over to lunch, but their lunch sandwiches are quite limited (usually just 3ish options) and most are pre-made in the case. I recommend eating here for breakfast and getting a breakfast sandwich made on one of their freshly baked breads! Seating is hard to come by, especially on the weekend like when we were there, so either be prepared to wait for a table or I recommend taking your food to go. Can't wait to visit again!
Just a great place to find all your baking needs and then pick up baked goods in the cafe. Highly recommend
A whole lot of flour, every kind and then some. Very nice store, but unfortunately I got there after the cafe had closed so will have to go next time I pass through New England.
I love this shop and café! High quality products!
I love the cafe and shop. We went on a Monday which was perfect. No crowds and lots of room and space to shop. We had an Italian sandwich on fresh ficaccia bread, split pea soup a choc chip cookie and coffee. All delicious. The perfect way to end our weekend Woodstock get away.
Amazing place with fresh bread and a bakery.
The recipes are totally accurate….I follow them completely as they say on the packages…most amazing company I have found and I am not a novice cook. Love this company!
