Pingala please never get rid of the crunchwrap supreme it’s amazing and I don’t know what you put on your chipotle sauce but I was licking the sauce off the plastic container Omg it’s so good.
I love the energy balls and I've tried the French toast balls which are also pretty good. It's a little pricey on some items on the menu (smoothies come to mind). This place is almost always busy, and inside seating is limited. There are, however picnic tables outside with a beautiful view of the river. Overall, a solid eating experience especially if you're looking for vegan.
Best place ever. We travel a lot and this is our favorite vegan spot for sure!
Been going here for years! Love the good, atmosphere, and people! A great vegan spot for sure.
I've been there a few times now, and while I haven't sampled a lot of the things on the menu, I feel familiar enough to have a general idea that I can edit later: The atmosphere is really nice and cozy by the river. Today I had the Napoleon Dynamite burger. Nice tasty burger with mayo/mustard sauce and lettuce. I think the patty is housemade but I could be wrong. Regardless it was very tasty. Where it was lacking however, was the bun. The young woman at the register seemed a little annoyed with me for asking to see what kinds of buns they used, but she showed them to me, and they were nothing special, just looked like your average ordinary buns from the supermarket. So I elected to go with the millet gluten free bread instead, for 1.50 upcharge. This brought the total price for a relatively small burger in a box with a tiny bag of vending machine style chips to 15.50, which unfortunately for me, didn't make it such a great value. Because I was still hungry after eating the small burger and small bag of chips. But that's ok, it was still very tasty, I was just hoping for a little bit more food. Anyway, now to the more positive part of the review: The Mac 'n cheese. The pasta and the oat milk based sauce were impeccably good. This time I had it for here, and the portion was very generous, I even had a bit leftover which I saved for the next day. This tanks at the top 1% of the vegan Mac 'n cheeses I've had anywhere, and it's worth coming here for that alone. I look forward to sampling more of their menu and raising their overall score in the future.
I recently dined here, and I had a great experience. I didn't even realize it was a vegan restaurant until I started eating, but the food was incredibly tasty. The flavors were rich, and I was impressed with the creative use of plant-based ingredients. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly.
As a transplant from another state that has a multitude of vegan options, I'm thankful that Pingala exists. Not just because it's one of the few vegan establishments in Vermont, but because it's one of the few *great* vegan establishments in Vermont.
Everything about this place is amazing! I highly recommend eating here even if you aren't vegan! The food is out of this world! 11/10
Best vegan food around. Even if you don't like "vegan food", you'll like this place!!
I've been coming here for about 5 years, it's typically my go-to spot whenever I visit Burlington. No matter how hard I try to love this place, I simply can't rate them 5-stars. I've never had a truly excellent meal here. So unfortunately, I can only critique the food as "good", not great (typically ranging from 2-star to 4-star - never 5-star). Considering it's Burlington's premier all-vegan restaurant, it simply can't hold up to other vegan restaurants I frequent such as Veggie Grill in Cambridge MA or Plant Pub in Boston for example, which are true 5-star establishments. My main complaint is the general lack of flavor - the descriptions on the menu do not live up to the hype at all. Everything I order is just so bland and, honestly, a bit disappointing. I tried the Rooster Wrap recently, and it was the most flavorless sandwich I've ever had. How could you go wrong with Maple Sriracha Tofu? When you don't use nearly enough sauce I guess. The tofu had almost 0 flavor. I might as well have been eating a lettuce sandwich. I also tried their Burger Crunchwrap, and I found the housemade beet patty very dry, and the "spicy" aioli dipping sauce just tasted like mild sour cream. Their shakes/smoothies are pretty good, and I enjoy the baked goods quite a bit too. It's typically only the lunch dishes which I consistently find underwhelming In all honesty, they probably don't even deserve 4 stars, but I'm being generous and I still like to support the vegan scene even if the food isn't the quality I would expect compared to what I'm used to in Massachusetts, or even Southern NH (Troy's Fresh Kitchen is a MUST try). Maybe if you keep your expectations low, and don't go in expecting to have your mind blown, Pingala will satisfy you just fine
The food was incredible! The house patty, the chips, the s’mores and peanut butter chocolate cupcakes… I’d recommend everything! The table we sat at had this truly unique gnome house that had loads of personality. I will be back the next time I’m here!
Finally visited here this week and extremely happy I came to try it out. I had the crunch wrap and nachos which all were Soo very flavorful and well done. The employees were amazing and made sure I stayed with everything I needed. I will be back for sure.
Love, love, loved it! Need a Pingala Cafe in NJ! More specifically, in Monmouth County!
Oh my goodness, I love this place! Very healthy eats and smoothies. Fantastic staff! Right on the river so it's nice to get take out and hang out by the water.
I ordered the s'mores cupcake and it was the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my life. Wow!!! Amazing service, great location. Also had the buffalo chix crunchwrap, it was pretty good, definitely innovative with all the ingredients (check out their Food Network clip) - first crunchwrap I've ever had so I had nothing to compare it to.
I was starving at work as I did not have time to pack a lunch and trying to find restaurants with vegan options is always a hassle. Glad I gave Pingala a chance. The food is absolutely amazing. Only negative is that it is a bit pricey, but I overlooked it given quality of the food. I'll definitely be back. Parking seems like it might sometimes be tricky though I had no issues.
Cute place on the Winooski River with an absolutely gorgeous view over the water. All vegan options provide an inclusive menu for those with and without dietary restrictions. Great place to come with a smaller group, as seating is relatively limited. The menu is relatively small and can be a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. The service and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Would absolutely come again and recommend to friends and family.
Great food, super hip place. Burger was great!
Best vegan spot in Burlington! There was no where I would’ve rather gone to satisfy my hiker hunger after finishing the long trail. Never had a carrot “dawg” before but I was pleasantly surprised with the delicious Bahn Mi version. I also got the brunch wrap supreme which was a perfect breakfast fusion of the original crunch wrap. To top things off I took home a few vegan croissants because I hardly ever see them.
Very pleasant experience! Delicious vegan food with gluten free options. Quick and friendly service!
