Love this place. Great espresso and interesting selection of books.
As a travel Nurse, I have been all over the US drinking coffee. Duchess has provided some of the best coffee I have ever had anywhere. During modern times the value of a good local business has become immeasurable. To succeed doesn't just require a great service or product. It requires recognition and word of mouth. Brattleboro VT is a special place and the rare gem that Duchess is should be treasured. If you haven't been here go. If you have and you like it, tell a friend, write a social media post, shout it from the rooftop. Thank you guys, and Roll Tide.
Best coffee in the state, coolest and best curated book selection, sexy-smart owners. Go. There’s simply no better place for caffeine.
Cozy spot to stop by for a great cup of coffee. Staff was kind and professional. Latte was good and I also enjoyed my pour over.
Great find in southern Vermont! High quality espresso beverages with excellent espresso art. The barista is very talented. Seating could be better but there’s a lot of books and items to peruse while waiting for your beverages to be made. Lovely space to enjoy top shelf espresso.
It is conveniently located Stopped in this morning nice little shop keeping stuff simple. Coffee quality is high tastes like a direct trade. We had a conversation about a few things I live in Massachusetts if you wanted to know more information about my state I can share that considering it has a big economy growth unemployment rate is 3.7 or less than 4% but the cost of living rent and leasing is very high unless you live in the west side of the state. Much more info can be shared. I can stop back in sometime again.
Best coffee I've had, and an amazingly well curated bookstore. Such a treat!
I walked in for the first time told the woman there how great art and music would be in that room where they have their business. She then asked me why I was giving her advice!?!? feedback is not advice! I used to cater with the biggest caterers in Los Angeles. The works is hopping mocha Joe's is hopping not because they have better coffee but because they are treated as if they are valued.dutchess coffee, will not survive because she has the demeanor of an ungracious snapping turtle! She just lost around 20 customers through my network. She must have been drinking the bruja coffee!
The best café in windom county
The coziest, cutest, loviest coffee shop! Ruth was so kind and accommodating and tailored my drink to perfection. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful place but the was charged $1.25 for barely a splash of milk and I asked for sugar and small splash of something and she was going to charge me again. Just shocking to me, I couldn’t even add my own sugar because no stirrers available. I’ve worked in multiple coffee shops and I didn’t care for the service (wasn’t very friendly) or blah coffee. I Won’t return.
Cute little coffee shop. Very yummy oatmilk flat white.
Elegant, plant filled & design forward cafe — by far the best in southern Vermont. Come for the coffee, stay for the breathtakingly well curated selection of new and used books.
I LOVE Duchess Coffee. The owners Ruth and Jeremy take great care to source ethically raised coffee from woman stewarded farms. We buy their beans, and often drop by for a coffee and chat. We are happy to support this BIPOC/woman owned oasis in Southern Vermont. I always have a fabulous time in this safe third space. Additionally, the coffee shop is chic and houses Antidote Books which is a beautifully curated independent bookstore. Thank you for your hard work and gorgeous space, Ruth & Jeremy!
Limited milk choices and I felt as if the woman at the counter was a bit snide
Very rood not friendly and poor made coffee
We stopped by Duchess Coffee on our way back to NYC and it was the highlight of our day! The coffee was amazing - proper espresso based coffee. I was blown away to see them use refrigerated oatmilk (Chobani) since every other cafe I've been to uses long-life/non refrigerated dairy alternatives. We had a nice chat with the owner and ended up buying a couple of bags of coffee beans as well (excited to try it out!). And the cafe itself has a greta vibe - light, bright and airy with a comfy couch and books curated by the owners. If we were locals, we'd be regulars.
Cute store. Great coffee. Loved that we could get a flat white. Books abound to peruse through while you wait
I'm in love with this little shop. The combination of excellent specialty third wave coffee and small little book shop is perfect. A few spots inside to sit as well as seating outside. The staff are super intentional on where they source their coffee partnering with women coffee farmers from South and Central America. The quality of coffee is superb and they're book selections are also incredible and educational. Highly recommend! Baristas are super kind and approachable and beyond knowledgeable about the coffees they serve. ❤️👍🏻👌🔥🌟💯
The barista was friendly and knowledgable, answering all of my questions about the different coffees. My macchiato was delicious. My wife had a chai latte. The barista took the time to steep the chai fresh instead of using some concentrate. They even use fresh local ginger. The care put into their beverages was highly evident.
